As soon as you step inside you can tell the care and attention that has gone into the details in this boutique hotel. We ordered a room with a 4 poster bed and a view of the hill/meadow via expedia as we were looking to break up a long journey. ||The decor in the hall and common room is stylish and interesting. Drinks and snacks are available by using an honour system payment tray. ||Our room was fantastically furnished and spacious. It felt almost like a junior suite as we had a large bay window with a coffee table and comfy chairs ideally situated for gazing at the stunning scenery.||The info booklet was helpful and lead us to a number of interesting places nearby during out short stay. The town was delightful and there's a quirky narrow bridge leading towards another idyllic village. We also spotted a little river walk which was a lovely location for a picnic.
We are doing lots of walks in Snowdonia this year and as we live 90 mins plus away we are staying somewhere close the night before so we can start early. We have been looking at Caernarfon and Bangor, and Betws y coed is usually full or expensive, but Llanrwst is only 20 mins from Llyn Ogwen so the location is perfect. ||||The hotel itself is five minutes walk out of "town" where there are a few restaurants, and looks over a tranquil field to the front. Our room, the double four poster was only £4 more than any other room, so it was the obvious choice. A wonderful bed, a huge window which thankfully on a hot evening we could open, tea and coffee, wifi and a bathroom with shower. The shower took a while to warm up but it was perfect once working.||||Plenty of parking. Entry was simple with a keycode and there was also a lounge and while we were there, an unmanned reception. It all worked smoothly and we had a peaceful pleasant stay.
I am afraid we were quite disappointed with our room which really needed a deep clean. Skirting boards and cables were dusty, carpet and bathroom floor required a good hoover. The bathroom was in need of updating and the hair in the shower drain was unpleasant.
The bedding was very clean as were the towels and the bed was comfy. Plenty of tea and coffee available and there is a small honesty fridge in one of the reception rooms from which you can buy soft drinks, wine, beer and snacks.
The location was brilliant and there is plenty of parking.
Loved this place.... turned up are a busy day working and the chap I spoke to was very clear about how to gain access to our rooms. I lucked out and got a super comfortable 4 poster and had a lovely view out of the window. If you don't mind road noise its easy otherwise I'd get a room at the back. Short walk into town to get some supplies for the Co op and then an lazy supper watching the world go by the window. Shower great and we left early the following morning to climb and work on Snowdon. I stay in a lot of hotels and this was fab ????????
Daughter and I stayed for 3 nights over weekend. Hotel was clean and tidy. Twin room was very spacious, good view of the hills. Could have done with some teaspoons rather than stirrers in the room as we had brought porridge pots, but that's just a minor thing. Great location, walked to Snowdonia Forest Park in about 20 minutes. Will come back some day.
What a little gem of a place. Easy to find, easy to park, walking distance to town and some lovely parks. The room was lovely and clean with cute little toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities. The entrance hall was well done with an area to eat with microwave, tea and coffee and a selection of treats with an honesty box. Such a lovely touch. The file in the room was informative and it was a great base to explore the gorgeous area,
This is a cute concept - an oldish hotel from another generation, preserved & converted into a self-service bedroom and shared lounge with an honor bar. Very retro...my only complaint in the Fall is the room is a little dull once it gets dark, as the furniture is dark brown and of its age. Well located for both the mountains to the South and Bodnant Gardens and the coast to the North. Grab and go continental breakfast available , but a bit later than might want in the Summer...I liked it as it is close to my relatives. I was going to say easy to find but name did not come up on Google Maps so I had to ask someone just like in the 1960s! It is on main road into town and has a good parking lot.
Selected a 'room with a view' - and it was excellent. Very convenient location for the cafes and pubs, also the great walks along the river or into the hills around.||Meadowsweet ticks the boxes for those who wish for independant accommodation. which is very clean and well recommended. ( No food at present)||Llanrwst is a lovely Market Town (Tuesday) with a fine history and not as 'touristy' as other towns nearby. Don't forget to visit (or stay) in the Gwydr Castle.
