Stayed in the single room which was cosy and nicely decorated. I really like the wood paneling. The bed was comfortable and the room had a lot of outlets which was handy. The ensuite bathroom was a bit on the small side but the shower worked very well. Breakfast was included and it was delicious. There was also a nice shared lounge space. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The Masons arms is a long established Bar & Hotel in Rosehearty. Its right on the seashore as you enter the village and there is ample parking all around.||The rooms have all been modernised to a good standard but are not very spacious, big enough for a comfortable stay though. Note the upstairs rooms we had all have low ceilings as do the en-suite bathrooms. If you are over 6 foot (1.8m) it maybe a bit too low.||The breakfast was very good and freshly cooked. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Evening meals are available if required. Local authority LINKS golf course is 100 yards away.
I had the absolute pleasure of going to the mansion arms hotel and all I can say is fantastic!!! Food in the Fitty restaurant was lovely, with a varied menu. Well cooked food and service outstanding!! A friendly blonde lady called Linda I think originally took our booking and she was one of the friendliest persons behind a bar I have met! What a wicked cheeky sense of humour she had. Owners she deserves a pay rise! Bedroom was nicely appointed and comfortable too. I will definitely be back!!
Great little hotel with clean comfy rooms, en-suite bathrooms and a great bar downstairs. Probably the best little place to stay for the price on the east coast of Scotland. Great breakfast, friendly staff who even lent us their car for a day! Highly recommended.
Myself and a colleague booked two rooms in the Masons Arms recently for one night midweek, while on a work trip.||While it is more a pub with rooms than a hotel, it was a cracking place to stay. ||The rooms were clean and fresh and the bed was incredibly comfortable, so much so that I had the best nights sleep I have had in a long time.||We ate our evening meal in the bar downstairs, and the food was great. Cullen Skink to start and a Burger for main course, both of which were very tasty.||Breakfast the following morning was a delicious cooked breakfast, although there were plenty lighter options available.||I would definitely stay at the Masons again, if I was in the area.
There is no separate listing for Rosehearty golf course which is over the road from the hotel. The rating above is for the course. The Mason's Arms acts as the clubhouse most of the time and this is where you pay the green fee (£10/15) and collect the scorecard. The pub also provides the hospitality at lunch time and early evening. ||||The course looks easier than it plays. The course has 5 x par-3 and 4 x par-4 holes played twice in the full round, but they all require careful positioning and straight shots.||||The tee markers are old, early 20th century and now overgrown with moss. Unlike other courses, they have not been replaced as holes were changed, merely reused. The club would appreciate any advice on how to clean them. ||||The Mason's Arms Hotel itself is an old inn, with refurbished bedrooms and modern bathrooms. The character of the bar is largely unaltered and has a snooker table. There is a residents kitchenette where you can make tea or toast any time of day or night. There is also a separate restaurant which you have to book. The day staff are very helpful and go out or their way to provide information, but overnight the premises are unmanned. Note the contiguous rooms are affected by the sound system in the bar which has a 1am licence.
We stayed here at the end of November, so the restaurant was closed. The bar, however was still open. We had a great time at the bar with staff. We had to different bartenders - one before dinner and one after dinner. They were both great. The couple of locals there were very chatty as well. The room was small by US standards, but sufficient. The wind was horrible and the small bathroom window rattled some. The breakfast was basic. We would stay here again.
Very easy to find and across from a golf course and Moray of Firth also close to Fraserburgh. There is parking by the restaurant as well as by the golf course. Our room appeared to be recently updated with the bathroom being more modern then mine at home. Rooms 3, 4 & 5 are up about 10 stairs on a circular staircase and the ceilings are low (someone 6' or taller may not be comfortable) but the building wasn't built yesterday (laugh). Although attached to a pub, it was very quiet.
