Fresh and hot breakfast, I had ceviche bun with egg, cheese and turkey sausage, I must tell you that I was impressed with the quality of breakfast served here
Better than Einstein, which was next door
This was the second attempt at getting food in Concourse D as I was connecting from Boston to South Bend. The first stop at mustard seed closed their kitchen at 6:45pm. So I walked up to The Market to ask if they were still serving food. The 2 girls were just chillin on their phones so I had to verbally get their attention. I asked if the kitchen was still open and they said yes. So I sat at the bar. I patiently waited for a few moments because I saw someone finishing up an order. Once she finished the order she promptly leaned against the service area and got on her phone. So now there were 3 employees on their phones without having even acknowledged me let alone take my order. Terrible service...
This is what $14.58 gets you at this place. 2 oz of powder eggs, microwaved french toast and 1 frozen turkey patty.
Took 20 minutes to get my order, with almost nobody in line, and it was cold. Never again.
Hard to imagine a worse experience than this. Rude and incompetent cashier and barista. Cold coffee. Ordered an everything bagel and received a cinnamon raisin. When I asked for the correct order the cashier said “oh my God” and proceeded to make other rude comments. Pitiful, terrible service. Dirty counters also. No wonder the line next door at Einstein Bagel is around the restaurant.
Waited in a very slow, 3 person line. Greeted by the most emotionless employee and order taken. No thank you, no instructions on where food would come out, nor any time line. While waiting, 2 people had to come up and ask for things that they ordered. While waiting, we were asked what we ordered by the person who just took our order. They have an open kitchen and I could see one of the “cooks” wearing gloves, but he had our bagel in one hand and his cellphone in the other. No glove change after and right back to touching our food and other customer’s food. Overall, it took about 12 minutes from ordering to get our food and they weren’t busy. Pretty pathetic service. Food tasted good but only 2 stars since 8 hours haven’t passed and I don’t know if I’ll get food poisoning or not.
A great employee that cared!!
Imagine arriving at an airport where you are hungry but as you walk past the food options you quickly realize two things, they are closing or almost out of food!
Such was my tale as I walked along the food options until I gave up and I went back to Food and Wine Market at concourse D. My flight was horrible (paid twice for a flight), I was hungry and not a lot of options existed for a picky eater like me. When I arrived I was told “our kitchen just closed, but we have cold sandwiches” I was about to walk off hungry and even more miserable when I heard a voice ask”what’s the problem?” it was an employee named Halima.
She repeated, what’s the problem and the cashier said that he was explaining the kitchen was closed. She then looked at me and asked what did I want, that it was no problem and she would make it. She then proceeded to ring me up and go in the back and make me a very very delicious chicken BLT. With love, and a smile and knew it was the chicken soup sandwich style the soul needed at that moment.
Managers of ATL airport Food and Wine Market, you have a gem of an employee!!!
Update: While posting this I realised some folks may have had a totally opposite experience, but we are all human and this was my experience with Halima. After working all day with irate travellers who knows what makes an employee change, for me she was great! For this I give her 5 ⭐️
pleasantly surprised, everything was Delicious!!!! I loved the breakfast sandwich, the bread is just amazing. Also tried the cinnamon pound cake and WOW. They have real coffee, freshly grounded. A lot of space to seat and different options like cold sandwich’s, salads, yogurt, fruits, snacks, juices, sodas, beers, wines, cold and hot coffee options. If you are on gates D I recommend you stopping by.
best airport sandwich ever for the price! everything fresh and tasty! the wait time was a bit longer than expected and overall pleasant experience.
