Fantastic place to enjoy Portree Highland Games. A stunning arena with an unmatched backdrop. Really does Skye and the natural harbour proud.
Very busy place during the games but the crowds are regulated.
Easy accessible from the town center up a short gradient. Well worth the walk for the views.
Nice walk away from the touristy hustle of the town. There's an old tower that you can climb to get some great views and a very scenic bench that overlooks the harbor. Great place to have a picnic.
Nice hike to this place, for the folks who rely on Google maps, sometimes it takes you to the longer walking route through the Indian restaurant. If you do so, you will find a trail at the end of the road, go up the stairs and take a left!! If you walk right it has amazing views but the lump is on the other side. The easier route is near the harbor and cathedral.
Short easy walk. Not very well sign posted but you get some lovely views over the Harbour. There is a narrow pathway that takes you around the cliff then a tarmac driveway to the top.
What a fun little find just a 5-minute walk from Portree’s commercial area! The setting is beautiful and allows for an elevated view of Loch Portree and across to the Isle of Raasay.
Easy to walk up and lovely views from the top. The apothecary tower is worth a visit and on a clear day you can see the old man of storr on the skyline behind Portree.
If you are looking for a bit of peace and quiet out the way of all the tourists then have a visit here. I was amazed that I was the only one there! Beautifully peaceful and still. Lots of benches to sit, each with their own lovely view point. Lots of little places to wander off track too.
A nice park. An interesting trip on foot and good for viewing the harbor and town from above.
Not much else to know or see unless an event is being held there. Look up the schedule for the Highland Games. We were lucky enough to be here when it was being hosted by Portree.
That’s an enjoyable crowd.
