Rose was my stylist and she was really awesome. She asked me about my concerns and she went over the cut that would be best for my very dry, broken, and curly hair. Mom of three that throws my hair up the moment I get out of the shower, gets a cut every 2-3 years, and uses cheap grocery store products…yea, my hair was roouugh and I new it. But not once did she make me feel bad about my hair neglect and she was just really understanding and gave me easy recommendations to help me towards healthy hair. I loved how the cut came out and it feels so much healthier! They also had a sale on their products so I made sure to get her recommendations on what products would be best for my hair.
Just keep in mind, if you want to tip your stylist, they can only take a cash tip!
It simply doesn't GET any worse. I've been getting highlights and lowlights for over 20 years and I've NEVER had an experience like I just had at this salon.
The owner, Donna, did some lowlights on me in the winter that turned out fine. But when I went in to request that just highlights be put in 3 days ago for Spring, I wound up with orange roots and orange stripes through my hair where she had bleached over the original lowlights. I called her in tears only to find that she initially tried to blame ME for requesting highlights only.
(What???)
After a lot of back and forth she told me to come back in and she would "fix it."
Spoiler alert: She didn't. Instead, it went from bad to worse. After performing a "root touch up" and adding a gloss she said she "didn't have time to blow dry for me" and I left with soaking wet hair only to come home to find that I STILL had orange roots and the gloss she had put on my scalp had turned the highlighted pieces a weird shade of grey. So now I have like 5 different colors in my hair on TOP of the orange roots.
After I got home and looked in the mirror I literally sat for an hour and cried.
All I wanted was a some normal highlights.
Now I'm going to have to spend a fortune on a corrective color at another salon and who KNOWS what kind of damage was done to my hair.
RUN.
DO NOT let this woman ANYWHERE near your hair.
UPDATE: I went to a different salon today and the stylist said that in her 30 years of doing hair she had never seen such a horrible job on a client's hair. She said it was almost as if Donna had no formal training. Long story short, it took her 5 and 1/2 hours to correct the damage Donna did to my hair.
Again. RUN. Don't let this woman ANYWHERE near your hair.
Donna. The Owner cut and colored my hair & brought it to life! The moment I met her, we hit it off and her work is amazing. She is a Hair Artist! I'm so glad I found my spot here in South Carolina. My hair is in good hands ❤️
I had booked an appointment online before 8am for a 12:30 appointment that was available. at 12:15 they move my appointment without even CALLING me. If they had called me and explained the situation I would have been fine but to do it through text messaging is inexcusable. I called and tried to speak with the owner, who my appointment was with, and she would not even let me talk, she kept talking over me. I will not use their business again and I suggest you not book anything online because obviously it is not a good tool for this business.
Regina is quick and accurate for this guy's cut. Thanks!Would happily recommend The Look, and I haven't had to wait long for a walk in (but l probably should be kind and call ahead.) Not expensive either! Just know to have cash on hand to tip as credit processing doesn't allow that here.
I've tried a few places in Myrtle Beach. The Look Salon is fantastic, especially with a lady named Donna. She does great haircuts, and service with a smile. A big thumbs up to this salon.
Above and beyond, Donna took care of me, my mother, and two daughters on my daughter's wedding day. I can't describe in words how beautiful my girls look. All four of us went together and had a wonderful experience. We highly recommend The Look salon. I had a wash, blowdry and style by Renee as did my mother, and Donna took care of the bride and maid of honor! We are so happy. This salon is not only lovely but we were treated like royalty.
Ended up having to get my hair fixed at another salon because of how bad one side of my head looked. Layers weren’t even at all. Stylist was too busy having conversations with others and really didn’t listen to what I was asking for. Won’t be going back.
