Best KPortal Reviews
It was our first time here, and it was amazing! They graciously allowed us to be the last guests in. I had the meatloaf, and my friend had the stuffed salmon. The meatloaf is just what I'm used to no ketchup!! The gravy had a nice kick to it as well. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Light love piano playing and singing. Veteran owned and veteran atheistic with Southern style flair.
What a hidden gem! Found this restaurant and came right as it open, got seated immediately and got our food so quick!!
Our waiter was so nice and accommodating, and gave us everything very quickly。
Food was absolutely delicious, and worth every single penny!! Proportions are huge, especially the steaks.
Environment was so cozy, they had a live singer sing and play the piano.
Overall experience was remarkable!!
I feel grateful to the staff who work here because they were so kind and had a good sense of humor. Also, the taste of the food is so great that it's hard to express..
Stopped in Richmond Hill for the night on a road trip. All of the produce stands we'd stopped at since leaving Tampa had me craving fried green tomatoes and my travel companion was in the mood for a steak. Found this place with a quick Google search and, with so many great reviews, it having what we were looking for, and it being practically next door to our hotel, we decided on The Local on 17. I was all smiles when we walked in the busy restaurant. No wait, pleasant hostesses, lovely ambiance, and a talented pianist greeted us! Our server, Forrest was great. It seemed we were one of many tables he was tending to but he was perfectly attentive, without being overbearing. He was helpful in accommodating a special request, making excellent suggestions, and even telling us a bit about Richmond Hill and things we may enjoy seeing while in town. A+ FOR SERVICE! THANK YOU, FORREST!
Now the food. I'm a professional chef and a huge foodie. My fellow foodie friend ordered the petit filet mignon with two sides. This is one of the best steaks I've ever had in a restaurant and it wasn't even priced very high. Perfect med rare, perfect seasoning, melted in the mouth, literally reminding us of a5 Wagyu. Obviously it wasn't, but that insanely rich, melty mouthfeel was incredible. The whipped potatoes were smooth and perfectly seasoned. The green beans were just a tad soft for my taste but still good. Now, to the fried green tomatoes. I've made/ordered/eaten more than the average person, I'd assume. I don't know that I've ever had any that I don't like BUT I think these may have been the best I've ever had. Perfectly paired with the aioli, corn salsa, and feta. With every bite, I had something to say about them. I opted to add the blackened shrimp which were, not to be redundant , perfectly cooked and seasoned and Forrest hooked me up with a big ol' scallop, which was not offered a la carte. We opted out of desserts Forrest offered because we were more than satisfied with the plates that we devoured. Both of us fed and sated for $55! ( Before tip) What a deal for a steakhouse that we will be talking about for forever. This will be a definite stop every time we make this trip. So pleasant surprised. Thanks y'all. From Richmond, VA
Every part of this meal and experience was great. Pretty sure this is the best steak that I have ever had. The quality of meat here is on a different level than any of the chain steak restaurants.
Despite coming in on a Saturday night with a large group, which is a challenge for any server, we had great, timely service.
We had the steak rolls and charcuterie and cheese board appetizers. The steak rolls were really good.
My wife had the filet. I had the special for the night, which was a filet with some amazing sauce and crab cake on top. The potatoes au gratin were great, recommend getting that as your side. These steaks were cooked perfectly and so tender that you could pretty much cut them with a fork.
We got the praline cheesecake to go for desert (sorry no pic) because we were stuffed. It was delicious as well.
It was a great birthday celebration for a family member.
This place was altogether amazing! I would come back for sure. The best steak I've ever had, it literally cut like butter. Deep fried deviled eggs... Never heard of them before but they are OMG awesome, you have to try them!
First of all, I want to congratulate the staff of this restaurant, one of the most friendly, professional, and dedicated team of individuals I've had the pleasure to meet.
Food, delightful, I will say that even thus, the pasta (homemade) is on the "heavy" side, but it is flavorful. Starters and meat are excellent.
Service 110% phenomenal.
Atmosphere is a scenery. Every wall, every corner, tells a story.
I will definitely eat at this restaurant more often
Very nice steak house in Richmind Hill just off HWY 17. I had the 16 oz bone in prime rib cooked perfectly and it tasted phenomenal! Really wanted seafood, but they were out of thier chowder and the only other seafood item on the menu was a lobster tail. That said, no complaints at all with the steak or sides. Great bar area as well.
