Fairly good menu, with apps, burgers, sandwiches, salads, bowls, and wings. The inside is nothing special, but there are plenty of TVs to watch sports or events. Serving staff was very nice and friendly, but seemed to be a little understaffed when we went there.
Went there for trivia 2 weeks in a row and it’s some of the best trivia ever (shoutout to ClassicCityTriviaCo!!)
The fries are always a hit during trivia and I got the Asian Tacos this time which were also super delicious! The tacos also came with some chips and salsa & the salsa was DELICIOUS! I highly recommend their taco (only $9 for 3) and it was super filling!!
Will definitely be back for trivia again soon :)
The Local 706 is an interesting mixture of the old and the new, the tried and true versus the experimental. This visit was my second time and just like the first meal, I wanted to like this restaurant. But my second meal was not as good as the first.
I realized after dinner my bacon BBQ burger did not have bacon or BBQ. The food tasted fine but the margaritas were not good. The poor woman at the table next to us waited over 30 minutes for her drink. I liked my server. She was good, but the overall bar service was bad.
If I could give less than one star then I would. We got to the restaurant at 5 pm and didn’t get food and drinks until about 7 pm which is ridiculous. The restaurant wasn’t even busy. We got the order then and it was incorrect so we did more waiting because of that reason. I was really excited to visit because myself and boyfriend were doing a double date. I’m so disappointed in this experience. Also I felt very out of place lack of diversity our entire three hours in the restaurant. I ordered three tacos and my boyfriend ordered a sandwich with sweet potato tots. The waitress we had was also not friendly and that upset me because good customer service is super important to me.
Waited 45 minutes for lunch only to be told “the health inspector is here so the kitchen had totally stop everything they’re doing”. Left along with another table. Waitress was lovely, though.
Nice place to grab the feel of Athens. The. Burgers are hand pressed and seasoned nicely on brioche buns with simple sides. Theres a drink menu with some pretty neat cocktails. The ambiance seems fun and inviting. Quite comfortable for a quick burger and some game watching. . Revisited this fun little spot amd ended up enjoying some of the best cheese bites I've encountered in quite some time. The wings were quite delightful! Friendly, helpful staff and a nice relaxing atmosphere!
Another trip into Athens for therapy... open g-maps for local restaurants.. someplace new wanted... This was a very pleasant place with friendly service and interesting menu. At 3pm it was very quiet but you can tell they must have busy lunchtimes. We had sandwiches and hotdogs, Hawaiian buns are damn good. Waffle fries seasoned & tasty. Place was very clean and well laid out with adequate seat spacing. Parking out front with only 3 spots but plenty more around back. Decent pricing, large portions. We'll be back.
2nd trip back into town, really starting to enjoy this place. Very clean...again. restrooms damn near spotless. Background Music hip but not overpowering. Appetizer baskets big enough for 3 to 4 people, had to take remaining tots home. Decent bar menu with all the basic drafts plus at least 5 locally brewed ales. I snapped the below pics between lunch and dinner times to minimize customer pics. Plenty of good waitresses that dodged the camera!
