I visited Algiers Point on a recent vacay in NOLA. I walked past The Little House and it looked so inviting I was compelled to check it out. Such a delightful experience! Excellent music and a chill atmosphere, I could have happily stayed for hours. They are all about wine with an impressive offering. I’m a beer gal and the beer menu was small but good. I had a delicious ice-cold local IPA. This place is worth making a trip across the river.
Such a great neighborhood spot!! The outdoor area is amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful in suggesting wines that they have both by the bottle and by the glass from all over, and the food was delicious!
The Little House is newer in our neighborhood!! Lots of wine options. The courtyard is fenced, extra large and has heaters and fans. Very enjoyable! We had the Pimento Cheese dip. Yummy!!
The name speaks for itself... A little house that is a home away from home. The atmosphere is chill and laid back. Kind of like a family gathering in the backyard but with friendly strangers and workers. Great food, great environment, great people.
We ate boiled crawfish, shrimp, dip w/crackers, and chocolate cake. All great and left full. A little pricey, but who cares when you're making memories.
The Little House is great, but in emphasizing the outdoors, it's just not a place you want to go when it's cold, hot, or rainy. Their own food is usually very good, and so are the food vendor pop-ups.
But they don't have enough inexpensive choices in wine, especially if you want to buy a bottle to take home; the beer selection is terrible; and they don't recycle, which is disappointing.
I cannot say enough about this place! It truly feels like going to a family member's home, one that you really like lol, it is so welcoming and warm. The cocktails are creative and the wine selection shows that the owners are passionate about sharing their love for wine with the community. Their small plates are fabulous too. Everything about their selection speaks to being a local in Louisiana and celebrates some longstanding traditions.
I saw Jason's 2 star comments below. It shows that he's not a local & doesn't understand just how well thought out everything about this Little House is. I chuckled at the confusing cocktails provided 10 years of bartending experience, I'm always impressed with what Hillary comes up with. Her attention to detail is impeccable.
Well done on creating a comfortable environment for our community to gather.
Love the look and feel of this place. Warm and funky. Great twist on hummus and expertly prepared salad. Good drink selection. I’ll be back to work my way through the wine list!…..and will bring friends!
