Holidaying locally and after a bit of research decided we’d pop in for Sunday lunch. Carvery was amazing, 3 big, thick slices of meat with lots of fresh veg! Also the option to add pie, sausages and chicken in gravy. 5 types of potatoes and a great selection of veggies. Atmosphere was great too, staff very friendly. Highly recommend this hidden gem!
Service staff was courteous and helpful when we asked about desserts.
Food portions are large by Asian standards. Waiting staff automatically placed order for the more expensive cod fish and chip without asking us which one when we asked for fish and chips. Luckily the price difference is only 1.50£. But it’s ok as food was fresh and tasty.
Popped in here after a days walking. What a pleasant experience. Firstly nice friendly staff, helps when you’re a lone traveller. Really pleased to have a roast dinner option, such a nice change from chips with everything. Even better, I was able to order the ‘child’s portion’ so nothing was wasted. It was lovely. Why can’t more pubs be like this? Well done The Lifeboat Inn x
Not very good quality, but fair portions of reasonably priced food...and Timothy Taylor Landlord on draft, but may be too warm in summer. Dated, basic interior with a few tables outside, unfortunately appears to attract thoughtless noisy groups.
Delicious food, generous portions.nice polite friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.
Called today for the best carvery in west Cumbria it's that good we got one for our Xmas lunch tomorrow
Very big portion and nice food
Great staff, friendly service and great food with a friendly atmosphere. Been many times. Very small inside but staff go out of their way to accommodate you. Will keep going
