Best KPortal Reviews

Food is good the steaks are the best around but there isn't really alot to compare them too. I would say the steaks are better than most national chain steakhouses but about average in the local mom and pops steakhouses I have been to across the United States. Salad bar has pretty good choices, my wife love the cornbread salad. Staff is always friendly. Be careful when standing up out of chairs they are top heavy and tend to fall over. I can't tell you how many times people have gotten up to go to salad bar and a chair falls making a loud bang. Overall I enjoy this restaurant and will be back.
A quintessential southern Americana dining experience for me, an out of towner, taken here tonight for my first time courtesy of my in-laws. Sufficient portions of solid and reasonably priced food served up quickly by down to Earth friendly staff (plus the busser was hustling turning over those tables!). I had that special burger with onion rings that were a winner, some of my wife's catfish, and a piece of key lime cheesecake. Tea is good too. Interior is spacious and open while tastefully decorated. Parking lot huge enough to accommodate all y'all's ginormous trucks. Must come back for an actual steak.
Ok. So hear me out… the service is wonderful! The place is clean. I watched the man clean the tables and he was thorough like very thorough with separate wash cloths. The salad bar….. it was fine… it only had 3 dressings. I had the filet, my husband had the special which was a 10 oz ribeye, 6 shrimp friend or grilled, side and salad. Filet- I requested medium. It was a over done and charred on the outside. Ribeye- it was under cooked. He requested medium as well. We did not send them back or say something we ate it and left it like it was. Fried shrimp was great. We both got the potatoes with stuffing. They were fine. I will make a recommendation though to clean the outside of them really well and add a little oil and salt and pepper to them. We opted for a dessert and I grabbed a plain cheesecake… it was thick. It was very cold so basically it crumbled while trying to eat it. We drove around 45 min to get there. Will I do it again, no. I would eat there again. Just not worth the drive for us.
Been here several times and the food and service have always been very good, but this past Friday night was horrible. Took 20 min or longer to get drink order, food took over an hour to get and food was cold. Bake potato was so cool it would not melt butter. Salad bar has been reduced to what it used to be. Probably will not go back and will not recommend to people like I have in the past
I enjoyed the food quantity and quality. The service was wonderful. I love the open building with plenty of seating. The salad bar had plenty of options.
This is our favorite steakhouse.
The ribeye and the whole meal were delicious as they always are.
The staff members were so polite and helpful.
Thank you and have a blessed day.

More accurate is 3.5 stars. The dining room was nearly full, but the wait time for our party of 3 was only 5 - 10 minutes. The service was exceptional with drink orders being taken and delivered quickly. Warm bread was a pleasant surprise. The salad bar was decent but small when compared to the claims and reviews of being the best. Where the experience begins to drop is also with the service. Soup and salad is offered with every entree (nice option) but when asked which of the 2 options of soup I wanted (beef and vegetable or potato) I stated potato which was repeated back. I received beef and vegetable, but I'm not that particular to send it back. The appetizer was delivered soon but had the taste of a frozen or pre-made appetizer. Easily the worst tasting item of the night. Another detractor was the amount of time for the entrees to be delivered. It appeared to be another 30 minutes before they came. The steak was really good and the baked potato came with enough condiments to not need anymore. If there was some critique to the steak, maybe some salt. But that becomes a preference. The last thing that takes away from the overall rating is that there isn't a wind break in the foyer and every time the door opened, cold air would overtake the entire room. Overall, the food was really good and the service was as well. Just a few things that would make the experience better. I will be returning to try some other items and to try the cheesecake!
Ordered at 6:30pm, out of fillets. Got a ribeye and it was good. Went to salad bar, out of lettuce. Also ordered half smoked chicken, overcooked. Server seemed more concerned about every other table in the place but ours, stopped by once after food arrived. Was going to order dessert but she brought check before we had a chance to.
Try and support small establishments but hard to drive 45 minutes, spend $75 and have this experience.
