We enjoyed two meals here while on holiday, we sat in the bar area, as we had our dog with us. The staff were welcoming and friendly and it was a nice atmosphere to have a relaxed meal. The second time it was a cold day and there was a lovely roaring fire to keep us warm. All covid regulations and social distancing in place, so felt very safe too.||||The food was fabulous. Particularly loved the Sunday roast, which is very good value with free seconds. Everything was tasty and was the best roast I've had for a long time. Yummy homemade puddings too. I can't recommend this place enough and will definitely visit if in the area again.
Stayed one night as a stopover .Booked on the day using booking.com and one of the owners phoned straight away to confirm we could have our 2 dogs in room with us . Hotel was easy to find . Lovely hotel . Room was gorgeous and spotless and very comfortable. Will definitely use again and recommend.
Booked this hotel as it was the only reasonably priced dog friendly hotel available on a recent road trip. It has a relaxed, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Our room was clean, and had everything we needed, except milk for the tea, and a waste bin, both of which were provided immediately when it was pointed out to the staff. Bed was super comfy, and staff had provided an extra heater in case we got chilly in the night. We had our evening meal in the bar, and were allowed to bring the dog too. It was a quiet Monday night, so we had the bar to ourselves. Our evening meal was delicious, as was breakfast the next morning. The family who own and run the hotel are welcoming and friendly, and make this place feel like a home from home.
First time we've been here. Visited last night with my wife and 3 other friends. There was a warm atmosphere in the pub with a nice mix of locals and visitors. Service was great. Food was brilliant and kitchen were very accommodating to one of our parties dairy free needs. Portions were generous and vegetables were perfectly cooked, not mushy having sat for hours. We all ate well for reasonable pub prices and will definitely be back again soon.

We went for our nephew’s birthday and the welcome was very friendly. The service throughout was excellent and the food was delicious. The sharing platter for starter was great value and the lamb dish and the venison burger were great quality. Well worth a visit.
Absolutely spotless,large room. Booked online while travelling as a stopover . One of the owners called me within an hour to confirm that our dogs were welcome and key would be waiting for us .
