Clean and Spacious Room and great value. Quiet Environment. Nice Interior. Several breakfast places and grocery stores nearby. Close to Newark airport, around 30-50 minutes from Manhattan Times Square.
This is a handy place to stay if you are driving on the Garden State Pkwy or going to Newark airport. The rooms are comfortable and parking is easy. There are several restaurants within walking distance plus a grocery store and a convenience store. I would pass on the seriously sad “grab and go” breakfast on offer and head to the bagel place down the street for breakfast. My only complaint about the room was the couch which may or may not have been clean, but looked ready for the curb! We put bath towels on it just in case.
Upon arriving to NJ on a late night flight, I was disappointed to find that the hotel I initially reserved was having plumbing issues and could not move me because they were at capacity. After calling nearly 15 hotels, I was starting to feel like Mary and Joseph because every single one had no room. I had all but given up and accepted that I may have to sleep in my rental car - then I called Kenilworth Hotel. Despite it being close to 2am, I was greeted by Tonisha’s kind voice letting me know they had a room! Once I arrived, I was grateful to see a beautiful lobby and a sharply decorated, clean, spacious room. I even received a welcome bag with snacks and water, a welcomed courtesy after the night I had!
Really enjoyed my stay here! Has everything you need plus AMAZING service thanks to Cynthia!! She's the type of employee any business would be so lucky to have. Treats guests very respectfully, and goes over and above! True asset to your business and i hope she's compensated as a result.
Ideal location for a vacation. I really enjoyed my stay above all the security around. Room was so nice and spacious. The housekeeping guys were so nice and helpful. Would love to go back for another experience
Well situated, nice facade as you’re pulling up very close to shops, restaurants within walking distance. Hotel itself is very clean, the staff I encountered were nice beds oh so comfortable. Nice shower pressure comes with a microwave and a mini fridge in the room overall I’d stay here again if ever I’m in the area
Check in was super simple and quick with friendly team members up front. They had a very clean lobby with some snacks and drinks up front for purchase.
The room was very clean and prepared down to the TV remote having a plastic wrapper around it (for germs)
What we didn't expect was a whole Mini Fridge and Microwave in the room! Huge plus so it allowed us to bring back leftovers from restaurants and reheat. Luckily there is an ACME next to the hotel so a quick pickup of some Dixie plates and cutlery got the job done.
????️ The hotels location was solid as you are able to easily jump on the highway to go north or south even with current construction that was present during our stay. The Kenilworth area and Union area provided great local restaurants and diners nearby for a quick bite.
???? The parking was easy as there was plenty of it with side doors with Key Card access only so you don't have to come thru the front Everytime.
We never checked out their bar or food from the hotel so cannot speak to that.
The AC unit could use service as it didn't seem to be cooling too well, and unfortunately the doors insulation was lacking as you can see the light from the hallways bleed thru which also led to noise from other guests in the hallway.
???? The shower was very hot and nice with a wide shower head, towels were clean and bathroom counter space was plenty. Nice large bed with plenty of space.
????️ The only downside is the pillows really lacked fluff and the bed had a sinking feeling (as if kids jumped for days on it) ended up with back pains for both my partner and i. Other than the weak pillows and bed, the hotel was a pleasant stay with more amenities than we expected.
Nice location close to the airport and shuttle driver was nice. Room interior and bathroom was old. Carpet seemed to have significant water damage. Overall, it was okay, but it did not feel super clean. It felt old and dingy. There were hairs from previous visitor in the bathtub.
