Absolutely Fantastic. We showed up to do an overnighter on our way to Scarborough, they allow this if you use the bar for food/drinks, but they had stopped serving food at 5, this wasn't an issue with the landlord which was fab.
A fantastic sleepover with great drinks and amazing friendly service, not much else you could wish for. Thanks guys, will see you again soon!
Lovely place, great service clean and friendly. Good value for money
Went for opening weekend and had an incredibly delicious Sunday roast with friends. The waiting staff were very attentive and friendly. There was a good selection of alcohol free drinks for myself (the designated driver) and the food was the star of the show with an absolutely delicious full roast followed by a sticky toffee pudding and an Eton mess which myself and the friends shared. Great price and we are super excited to come back soon!
Under new management, we have found the place lovely, the food (Sunday Roasts) absolutely first rate and the service and friendliness spot on! Family of 2 adults and 2 children, we have found everything to our satisfaction, including the entertaining quirky train-like bell sound from the kitchen for the staff to know when meals are ready for service! ????
Absolutely fantastic carvery. I had the prawn cocktail to start followed by roast beef served with all the trimmings. Very reasonably priced and good quality food. The staff were all friendly and there was a decent selection of drinks. I will definitely visit again!
I live so near yet so far! East Cottingwith to Thorganby in 25 minutes via car. I could probably smell them cooking dinner from the other side of the river!
Nice pint of blue moon sat outside on a sunny day, looking forward to eating there. Landlady lovely and friendly.

First visit after spotting the pub while out on the bike. We popped in for some food and we were served with tasty, generous portions. Can’t complain about anything.
An amazing Great British pub! Great food, atmosphere and absolutely well managed by a brilliant couple. Heart and soul of a tranquil, quintessential yorkshire village. A must visit if you are in the area.
