Great food and service although we went at a quiet time. Several drinks were out of stock. The toilets need to be checked more frequently as found to be dirty.
Last Saturday my wife and I reserved a table for 14 family and friends, including three young children, to celebrate our golden wedding. All agreed that the food was excellent, from both the main and the children's menus and that the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. We had a thoroughly enjoyable occasion.
I had my wedding reception here; we booked a room out for around 25 people for a three course meal, with a champagne reception with canapés. The food is top drawer - with some surprises and some classics, there is something for everyone. We had beautiful weather, so the outdoor areas were greatly appreciated. But what stood out by a mile was the quality of service. Everyone from the manager through to the bar-staff was attentive, switched on and just very nice! Highly, highly recommended.
We had a lovely dinner here with an amazing Lamb Shanks & Pumpkin soup - The generous servings and big sized appetizers were delicious and combines with the high quality service contrived to make a perfect evening. We had originally planned for somewhere else being an easier location but when that was booked out a local had suggested hurdles and we are delighted they did!
I originally gave this place a five star review but after a second visit I needed to change it. The pub does not stick to its published opening hours, so you will often turn up and it will be advertised as open even on the outside of the pub only to be closed. The staff a really immature, the service was very poor they just keep constantly flirting with each other while treating the place as a private disco turning the volume way up for songs they like and keep changing songs half way through, while giggling out of sight. The food was good though despite it being school disco night.
Good food, very friendly staff. Child and dog friendly. Plenty of outdoor seating during summer. This place has been under new management for the last few months and there have been a lot of changes for the better. If you want somewhere with a lovely atmosphere and great food then give them a go.
We enjoyed a family meal here and unfortunately my 5 year old lost a part of his favourite toy. I sent a message asking them to look and to say that they went out of their way to help is an understatement. Fantastic customer service, thank you Edd ????
We drove 30 mins to try this place as it was recommended to us. Well worth the drive. Everything from the service to the food, atmosphere and management was excellent.
The cote de boeuf was to die for. Will definitely come back soon.
