We stayed here as we had a wedding nearby and all I can say is wow! The room is absolutely stunning and the service provided is next level! We had breakfast and it was so good! The food quality and presentation plus the service provided by Deano was outstanding! I work in customer service in a customer facing role for an airline and his standards are what is expected of me in a first class cabin. We can’t wait to return in the summer just for a stay as we loved it that much! Thank you!
Stayed for 3 nights for our mini moon following our wedding on 20th December. This was our second stay. Lovely welcome and very comfortable stay in room 4. Excellent food throughout and very friendly staff. Hot tub an added bonus. We have booked to stay again for our anniversary in December 2024! A lovely escape which was just what we needed to relax before Christmas.
We stayed here the night before our daughter’s wedding, along with our other children and the bridesmaid. We had an absolute blast. The staff could not have been more welcoming and accommodating, they even put on “wedding” music during breakfast. They also tolerated our last minute (and post meal and wine) wedding rehearsal with great humour and tolerance. The food was amazing and the rooms really comfortable, the hot tubs were a definite added bonus. Such a great pre wedding stop over. Would highly recommend The Houblon Arms.
We came here for a friends birthday meal. The pub is beautiful with beautiful Christmas decorations. |Service was excellent and the young waitress was very attentive. |The food was excellent, we recommend the stuffed chicken starter. |The only thing that put a slight dampener on the evening was the restaurant and bar areas were very cold. |Beautiful fire places but none lit. It’s the end of November and naturally you want to look your best in an establishment like this. I’m sure with the price we are paying for the excellent food and service they can afford to put the heating on.
Thoroughly enjoyed the best meal ever at the Houblon Arms on the 15th December. |We went with a couple of good friends for a birthday/pre Xmas get together.|The food was sublime and the service could not be faulted. |All the staff are professional and really friendly and the restaurant looked amazing with some beautiful decorations.|John and the team gave us a brilliant night with excellent food so thanks to all!
Spacious rooms with luxurious four poster beds, great showers and a hot tub that is great.
Evening meals are a high standard. Friendly and professional staff, good range of choices over the three courses.
Overall we felt welcomed by the friendly team, had a great meal and high quality sleep.
We had amazing get away to Houblon Arms.|It was a hit from the moment we parked up in the large car park.|It all started with an extremely friendly welcome and being shown to a lovely, comfy, clean room with a 4 post bed. (And was happy that they accommodated my request to have a bottle of bubbly waiting on arrival).|We had a few drinks in snug before going through to dinner (nice touch was them taking our order whilst we chilled on comfy sofas with a drink before taking us through to the restaurant).|Dinner was lovely all with extremely friendly service throughout (thanks James and Elena!).|After dinner we chilled in our private, covered sauna with some wine for hours.|After a peaceful night sleep, we finished off our visit with a delicious breakfast. |We had a chat with the owner who was extremely welcoming and friendly.||Can’t recommend this place enough for a couple’s get away.|Everything was amazing from start to finish and at great value.
Not to sure where to start with my review of Christmas Lunch…|On arrival we had a very warm welcome by the hosts of The Houblon Arms, served Buzz’s Fizz or OJ as a NA alternative.|The food was absolutely amazing, starting with a classic slate of canapés.|Starters were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The main dish was served with a variety of fresh vegetables on the plate, alongside additional vegetables.|Dessert was incredible and was followed by mince pies, tea & coffee.|No one was rushed, the whole meal was impeccably served by a family team who were attentive while not being intrusive.|Anyone wanting an amazing Christmas Day lunch experience in 2024, I can wholeheartedly recommend The Houblon Arms and the family team…
