I had a tea party to celebrate my 'big' birthday. I ordered a selection of sandwiches which included Egg, tuna with cucumber, ham and cheese on white and brown bread. I can only give positive feedback. Superb!!! My guests loved them. Well done. Would certainly use Hot Bread Shop again. Thank you.
Bought two large rolls one was a large bacon roll, bacon was cold and hard to bite into. paid almost £10 for two sandwiches!
This has been my go to bakery since I was a kid I used to go after nursery and school since moving out of cotgrave I'm not sure if it changed hands or not but I went in the other day for a sandwich with my mate I bought a wonderful ham salad sandwich and he had a bacon baguette with brown sauce I really didn't pay attention to the price as it was way to early in the morning two hours later I was still around and could smell the fresh sausage rolls they had made I went back in and the polite young lady says 95p I'm thinking that's way low of a price for a sausage roll so I try it and I must admit it was the best sausage roll I have eaten. I'm glad I gave her £1.20 for the sausage roll this bakery has never had any faults from my nursery and school era of chocolate cookies and a chicken mayonnaise with sweetcorn roll to the adult days of a sausage roll and ham salad roll.
I go here first thing some mornings for the bacon cobs. The bacon is always superb, best value and best cob IMO is the small option, the bacon to bread ratio is spot on. Go large and I find the additional bread is not matched by sufficient bacon. That's just my opinion. I would also recommend the square shortbread things with chocolate chunks, no idea what they're called but they're delicious as well. Always service with a smile too.
Since the precinct has been done you're never short on parking on either side of the shop. Recommended.
I'd read previous reviews and thought, this sounds like a wonderful place to eat..... how very very wrong I was. The cob was stale, the bacon was hard to the point where I nearly choked on a piece and fhe sausages were very average. As a cob shop lover this is the worst one I've encountered so far. Sorry but I will not be attending again
Out looking for a cafe on a bike ride but none open. Went here instead. Good cakes, hot food and drink. No seating of course but public seating outside. Best of all half the price of a usually cafe stop. Recommended.
The Baker at the shop did an absolutely amazing job on the cupcakes for my son's 2nd Birthday... not only are the cakes well decorated, but most and absolutely delicious... thank you Phil!
