Food is this place is good. Been here before many years ago. This visit was last minute. Bed and breakfast was last minute decision. £50. Good value considering. Premier inn wanted £95 last minute. Plus premier wants an extra £17 for breakfast. Chef phoned in sick this morning, so replacement turned up late at 8.20, but not his fault. To his credit, he was apologetic and a great cook. Breakfast was served at 8.50 and was excellent. To some up. Even tho things turned out a bit delayed, good place to visit, good beer, good food, friendly staff.
Staff were friendly. Enjoyed having a meal and drinks here. There was an excellent choice on the menu. Most main meals were under eight pounds and there were both lunch time and evening offers. We had large steaks, home made chips with veg. plus fruit crumble for two people £20. Delicious.
A dump. Stayed for 4 days. Room wasnt cleaned during our stay. Towels wasn't changed during our stay. Cups wasn't cleaned during our stay. 1 roll of toilet paper for our 4 day stay. We offered our room to the homeless and they said we'll stay where we are thanks. This place needs bull dozing
Well I am editing my review....
Just been for a quick lunch with the inlaws.
After finding our own table and sitting patiently for 10 mins we had to ask for our menu... Ok, a bit annoying but only one waitress serving so excusable.
Upon ordering our meal:
No pork casserole special...
No chicken in pesto...
No hunters chicken..
No ricotta (another customer's order)...
No orange juice....!!!
None of this was mentioned before we sat down. Seriously, on a Friday lunchtime.
The barmaid seemed to be more interested in her phone than customer service. Another barmaid had her children running around with little supervision.
We cancelled our food orders (what they actually had stock for) paid for our drinks and left. Even though this is my (very) local, we won't be going back.
The place looks half decorated (March 2018). It looks and feels like it is on the way down unfortunately. I have been there repeatedly over the last 15 yrs and I have never seen it in this state before. The beer isn't bad but it isn't somewhere I feel comfortable with anymore.
We stayed overnight here, on the way back to London from Newcastle.
The Horse & Jockey is a good sized pub in the centre of the village. The horse theme is even extended to the names on the pub's extensive dinner menu (although there's also a fair amount of RAF memorabilia dotted around showing its long association with nearby RAF Waddington).
The food was cooked to perfection & the staff were very friendly.
We stayed in the 'Ascot' double room, adequately sized with en-suite toilet & shower.
Breakfast was excellent; you can't beat a lincolnshire sausage & the chef was also highly accomodating to my wife's vegetarian requirements.
Waddington's a lovely little village, nice & rural yet only a few miles from Lincoln.
Overall, excellent service & a very pleasant stay.
The staff were very friendly .good food
