Just had dinner at the Horse and Groom and It was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. You can tell that all the ingredients used are great quality and everything is fresh. I eat out in pubs/ restaurants in Norfolk on a weekly basis and this is a new favourite.
We were full up after our meal but decided to share a dessert as the food was so good, and it did not disappoint, we wished we weren’t sharing once we tasted it!
The pub is also decorated beautifully with a nice atmosphere and the dogs were happy and relaxed there.
Passed by here on Friday and thought we’d take a look. Unfortunately the place was in darkness and all locked up, didn’t look like it had been open for a long while given the state of the car park and outside areas. Delicious food and friendly service. Tried the Pizza night and sampled many delicious pizzas with side orders which were served with a friendly description of the toppings etc and an offer to accommodate any likes/dislikes. Went again for Pie Night. Excellent food again - amazing chips with very tasty pies. Room for dessert this time which was from a different selection from the usual run of the mill desserts and was lovely.|Publicity needs to be better as it’s such a fantastic venue but hard to find out much about it. Definitely going back !
Went here for bottomless pizza. Booked in advance by phone. Plenty of tables available when we got there. They started the courses very quickly and they kept coming until we were full. Absolutely brilliant. The pizzas were great! Huge thanks to the chef and the pub. Really hope people notice how nice it is that this pub is in Rollesby and head on down.
Went here for a wake and was very well catered for.
We booked a table tonight turned up a few minutes late at 7.30 to be told we are closed and open to residents only. Said we are here for the pizza night.
What really annoyed me no real apology, he called Sarah up to check if we booked a reservation but was not offered any food after travelling 2 hours . I rang on Wednesday 9.21 pm to book after calling several times with no answer during the day.
Would not go back. We wanted to go for lunch tomorrow told that they are closed on Sunday, said the website says you are open but no not till 28th.
I suggested they updated the website to make it clearer.
We then turn up restaurant closed tonight.
Such a shame , wanted to try it will never return now.
Just had a short break staying at the Horse and Groom. What a lovely gem of a place. The staff were wonderful. The food was absolutely lovely all home cooked and fantastic quality. The room was very clean and very spacious. Thank you Sarah and the team for allowing to enjoy the experience of the Horse and Groom at Rollesby. See you again soon. Emma, Dorian and Jack x
We found this place by chance as we were very hungry trying to find a restaurant/pub with food whilst on a mini road trip. Their kitchen was just closing when we got there but the staff was so nice to us and kindly offered to make some Sunday roast (even veggie Sunday roast) for us. This place was like a magical house from the film 'El Canto'. A lovely enchanted place with friendly, warm people welcoming you. Food was very tasty and fresh. Would definitely recommend this place if you want a little magical escape from the daily reality.
This place has become my go-to place for a drink. The staff are very friendly, they mix and banter with the customers and it has a very welcome and warm atmosphere. I cannot speak of the hotel, having no need to use it (I live a mile away and have closer pubs), however, the bar is old style but modern and quirky in appearance. Last night we bumped into friends in there and ended up having an unintended steak meal each. What we all said was that the steak and associated food was one of the best we had ever had. We'll be back very soon.
