I hate to say it, but this place tried to rip off me and my party. We were having a good experience, enjoying the food and drinks, and appreciating the service... until the bill came. We did some quick head math, and found that several items had been added to our bill that we didn't order. Then, we noticed that almost every single drink and cocktail was £1 more on the bill than the menu.
Essentially, this place thought that they could add drinks to our bill and overcharge us without us noticing. This is unfortunate, because everything else was enjoyable about the dining experience aside from the fraud at the end.

We were given a warm cheerful welcome! The menu and specials explained making it easy for us to decide from a lovely comprehensive menu. Our cocktails were well made and the food delicious. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and knowledgeable. Our bill was accurate. We’ll definitely return.
Walked in on a Friday. Delighted to find genuinely good Italian cooking (no pizza), modest but well chosen wine list, cocktails, great ambiance, charming service. We were blown away!
Friendly but slightly slow service - although I appreciate there was only one waitstaff there that night. We walked up without a reservation and they very graciously seated us. I'm giving 3 stars because while we found most of the food to be quite good, the ham croquettes didn't have any ham or bechamel like you'd expect from a classic Spanish croqueta, and in fact seemed to just be those potato croquettes you can buy in a supermarket and freeze. I still recommend this place - but just get the gnocchi or another tapa!
Lovely food, menu not too big which is great for quality. Felt safe, which is important, screens used so you had your own space. Would definitely go again, great to see Carlo back in the town.
Not a lot to report. It's a traditional English pub situated in the lovely town of Ashbourne. Beautiful sunny Sunday when we visited, and fortunately we manged to get one of the limited number of tables outside to enjoy it for half an hour. It's one of a handful clustered around the market area, which was in full flow, and on a day when England were playing one of their World Cup matches, it was also one of the quieter. Couldn't fault the pint of a local brew that I tried or the service, as the young lady who served me with my pint and my partner's diet coke, came out to apologise that she thought she'd served the 'full fat' version, and changed it to be sure. The food seemed popular, as most of the people seated around us were tucking into a variety of meals.
OMG what a little gem.
We ate at the Horns at the weekend whilst away with friends. What can I say, the food was amazing. I had seafood linguine and it was sublime.
If your in Ashbourne and looking for a nice quaint restaurant, go for this one.
After walking through the door, we were ungraciously turned away. We only popped in for drinks and the staff smiled as they said they were closing as we were turned away. Bearing in mind we called in 20 minutes before closing I found their attitudes rude and rather abrupt. I highly recommend that you turn up to suit the owners hours and comical amateurish staff. Enjoy at your own peril.Uurrgghhhh!!!
