I enjoy this place very much and have ate here quiet often with my girlfriend. This is one of our go to places if we go to Thief River and have a good time with good food. I don't have anything bad to say about the food at all. I have gotten the Walleye a couple times which can be a little sketchy at restaurants but it has always been amazing and a good portion for the price that you pay. I have also tried other dishes there and they are all very good. Also, if you want an appetizer I would recommend the mozzarella sticks. These are much better than other restaurants you may eat at.
Service loses some points here as once we waited about an hour for our food. It was packed, but still this is too long. Also, the last time I was there they didn't come by and give us refills until we got our food.
Overall, a great place to eat and I will keep going back and back.
I have never written a review before but I had the worst dining experience I have ever had Saturday evening. I consider myself easy going when it comes to going to a restaurant but the waitress was incredibly rude from the get go. Aside from an overall dismissive, attitude, aggressive responsive, the medium rare steak I ordered came well done but I was to blame for it coming on a hot platter and over cooking as I sat there. I ended up taking a mediocre steak home that was mostly gristle. I have been a server many times and there were days I wasn’t feeling the best but smiling at your customers is a skill you have to hone in the field. Unfortunately this the the reputation that this restaurant seems to have.
Walleye fillets were delicious! Nice crispy breading with a hint of lemon pepper.
This bar and grill in Thief River Falls was very good. The burger I had was pretty good and the boneless wings were excellent. My wife and I went with a friend of ours who just moved there about a month ago. The server we had was really nice and attentive. I'd go back!
OMG the Ribeye with garlic butter was AMAZING!! YUM! Tashia, you rocked the place love your service and was happy to see you were the one to wait on me again!! Thank you!
The food and promptness of the food is 5 star all day, my service needs a bit of a tune up, lots of aimless wandering and I could tell others in the restaurant were also losing their patience a bit between delayed refills (sometimes no refills), delay in receiving a bill and then further delay in running it. The honey bbq wings were absolutely on point and satisfying. The fries were soggy and quite flavorless. The wing sauce, temperature, and quality made this one a try it again place for sure.
Great food excellent beer. Service however was very poor. 3 of us sat at the bar. The bartender was extremely busy with the rest of of the restaurant barley paid attention to the bar. We sat for over 15 min waiting for a refill. Had we known that we would have sat at a table. I feel service would have been at a table.
Eaten here a handful of times now. Food is consistently good.
I recommend getting an extra Hive Butter with anything you order.
In my picture is the Wasp Stinger burger. Quite spicy, but not ridiculously spicy. Lots of great flavor.
