First off they greet you the moment you walked through the door which is always nice. Everything was spotless clean as soon as someone left the table there was someone clearing it! Very friendly, everyone was nice even the patrons. And ladies bathroom is spotless no fears there. I bought my house 2 years ago right down the street from this place breakfast and lunch always busy now I see why! And to top it all off the food was excellent. I would like to try lunch sometime.
My husband ordered take out. First time we've ever gotten food from here. It was great! Hubby got Prime Rib, which he enjoyed. I got the Pot Roast. It was excellent! Potatoes were good and carrots cooked perfectly. The salads and rolls were good too. Thanks. Will be back for sure.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. This place is ALWAYS busy and even though I have only been there a couple of times, the ladies make you feel like a regular. I have never felt so comfortable in a restaurant/diner as I did here.To go along with great service the food I had was also great! I got a western omelet with home fries and english muffins grilled. Let me just say, it was the best western omelet I have ever had! The omelet was huge, and the home fries were delicious. I can't wait to go back for breakfast again.
This was an awesome dining experience. Truly a local staple. The food was delicious and the staff treated me like family even though it was my first time there. I was able to order my go-to order of Irish eggs benedict and it was delicious. It doesn't have a big parking lot with only 6 spaces but there is plenty of close street parking. I am looking forward to going back again soon!

As first time customers, we went on a holiday weekend, another well known local breakfast place was closed, so chances of The Hen House having overflow customers (like ourselves) was pretty strong. When we walked in, one table for two and one for a larger group were only tables left, but counter seats were still aplenty. Well lit, friendly atmosphere, & I was acknowledged immediately. It was also recognized I was uncertain of self seat or not, which was kindly answered with a wave of the arm. I took a chance ordering a meal with multiple opportunities to dissappoint or impress - Steak & eggs. Furthering my risk, I ordered poached eggs & med well steak. The waitress was attentive, it seemed staffing was appropriate, and they were quick to clean a table/counter seat as soon as it was available, allowing the next customer(s) to sit down. My poached eggs were perfect...no runny white, but some runny yolk...Steak was also perfect...and I was very satisfied with both meal & experience. My husband ordered an omelette with side of hash. He was less satisfied with his meal, so the four star rating is given.
