My past experience at this establishment about 9 months ago was fairly good. However, my most recent visit was horrific, to say the least. Whomever the young man is that prepares the food is going to ruin the business. I ordered a 6-Piece Shrimp Dinner with Okra and Macaroni with Cheese. I received a 6 piece Chicken Dinner instead along with an odd-smelling Macaroni with Cheese and Fried Okra. I had purchased this order as take-out, so I didn't want to return to the establishment for an exchange as I live almost 45 minutes away. The chicken was salty as hell... extremely brackish. I immediately threw all of that away along with the sour Macaroni with Cheese. The okra was the only item that was edible. Disappointed is an understatement. I am absolutely flabbergasted at the 180 in food quality from 9 months ago.
Whomever the young man that works the front counter definitely needs to be trained better when it comes to customer service. Also if you're going to charge for every little item at least make it worth purchasing. It's been years since I've visited this place, and I must say the old workers(women) that worked there at the time were more friendly and respectful. Nice establishment and well kept none the less.????
I've heard about this place for YEARS and man every good thing I've ever heard was true. This chicken and the fries were abosutley DELICIOUS????!! The pound cake was to die for???? so very moist and just the right sweetness???? We stopped at 11am so everything was nice and fresh. The seasoning was just right, the chicken was crispy and the fries were nice and thick. If you're ever in Glenville Ga check out the Hen House, you won't be disappointed???????? Edit: So Nice we visited twice. We actually stopped on our way home to purchase a 24 piece so our family could taste the goodness????
Went to Statesboro on May the6,2024, thought I would stop by the hen house hadn't been there in a while, omg the food was terrible, what happen to the good cooks.if they don't do something soon they will loose all of their customers.The chicken use to be so very ???? good,the young man that cooks need some more training.
We were passing thru stopped ordered chicken was awesome but dang that homemade pound cake was off the chain Best have ever had since my Mama baked one
Went to this place yesterday for the first time to try the food.
The food was ok, the chicken gizzard that I ordered wasn't clean. You could taste the skin that you are supposed to take out when you clean them.
And it was over charge, I paid 19$ on 2 pieces of chicken (REALLY SMALL).
A chicken breast that it was smaller than a chicken thighs and a really small chicken wing with fries and 1 order of chicken gizzard.
I won't go back to this place.
I was extremely disappointed with the food and the price.
This place is known for their chick as you would figure from their name. My husband and I went here to try something new. I ordered catfish and green beans while my husband ordered the fried porkchop, chicken, macaroni and cheese, and crab rice. After paying for the food we were told that they only had one piece of fish left so I opted for that one piece of fish with some chicken. When we received our food they gave us two mac and cheese and no green beans and the food had no flavor to it and it was all over cooked. Question is would I come back her to eat? The answer is "no." For the price of my plate I could go to Popeye's and get flavorful chicken.
The owners are beautiful, down to earth people who enjoy feeding the public. Food was cooked fresh and we did not have to wait long. Around the side they have a covered sitting area. Please take advantage of this and dine here
