Best KPortal Reviews
Popped in at lunchtime - place was busy with local workers. It’s a classic old school chippy so why would you order anything but ?
Food was excellent - ordered the haddock supper size and it didn’t disappoint. I think the time of day matters and perhaps where the negative reviews are from, but we thought it was great.
Had fish and Chips twice on our. recent trip to Shetland, both. Times fish lovely and fresh and not greasy batter. Crispy 6 cleared plates
It was very quiet and I expect it's always like that as I was stood waiting for 2 minutes before banging to get someone's attention. The fish and chips were already cooked and in a keep hot area so there was hardly any waiting time for food but if you want more than 1 fish I expect there would be a wait. The fish and chips were traditional and very fresh and tasty.
I would happily go back there when I'm next in Lerwick.
My wife and I had some very well done and fresh fish (haddock) and chips. There are teenagers working there (maybe that part of the previous bad reviews), but they we’re nice and polite the whole time. Give it a shot!
Despite been advised to stay clear of this chip shop decided to give it the benefit of the doubt on my way back to the hotel.
Omg, the chicken breast or whatever it was was disgusting just boney and pink and brown in the middle.
The chips were just as bad like they were serving last nights chips. Just returned it to the counter and walked straight out the door to throw up.
I recommend staying clear of this place and go to the Fort Cafe.
Not being from shetland I found the menu different yet appealing. The staff were very friendly and freshly cooked my order. The food was outstanding, plenty of different things menu. The batter was nice and crispy, I would recommend trying the crab sticks in batter and the king rib. Plenty of drinks to choose from. Clean, friendly and tasty what more could you want.
The three of us all had different things are they were all great. A real proper chippy, loved it.
We ordered 3 fish suppers with mushy peas, the peas were off and sour. I phoned to tell them so other customers meals weren't ruined as ours were. No offer of a refund or replacement just a thanks for letting them know....back to the Fort chip shop it is then.
