I love The Hair After! I see Tyler and he's great! This place has really competent stylists that can do just about anything you want to your hair. They are very queer friendly and will use your pronouns. They are also punk friendly and will happily do punk styles and/or dye your hair blue or pink or purple or a whole beautiful rainbow of colors.
Been going to this great salon for almost 5 years now , actually my entire family . Never disappointed, Marilynne and Tyler are just not hairdressers, they are true artists. My daughter had highlights before Christmas and she never leaves the mirror. Beautiful job Tyler. Always professional but so personal with all of us and the shop itself is nice and trendy . Give them a try , you won’t be sorry
Great service and fun/friendly staff. Beautiful decor and comfortable place to treat your self to a massage or new hair style. They really listened to me and what I needed for my new hair change. I went from long to a cute shortcut and help me learn to style it as well. You will love this salon. The best in Carroll County.
Absolutely love this place! If you are looking for a great salon, The Hair After is the place to go! I am never disappointed after an appointment. Great atmosphere and incredible service. The staff is very welcoming and professional. Tyler is an amazing stylist and colourist. He always delivers exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend this salon!!!
Warning don’t get color done here; Tyler is not a color expert or specialist as he claims. My aunt went in for gray n silver color and for $250 left her sitting with green, purple, and blue hair along with orange streaks in the back. It is truly a nightmare. She is now not only suffering with the public embarrassment of her hair being 5 different colors that were not wanted but her hair is now overprocessed burnt hair that actually has CHUNKS falling out. There is no guarantee at this place now her once perfectly healthy hair is destroyed due to this horrible mess.
Extreme talent behind those doors! From regular hair cut to the most unique & fashionable up to date color this place offers it all PLUS a variety of other beauty services! Kasey has been my go-to for color for years & is a artistic genius with an AMAZING personality!!
BLUF: Spent hundred on a trendy technique that washed out in the first wash. Their “fix” made me look washed out and was not good. Ended up cutting off all my hair into a pixie cut by a real stylist somewhere else.
I went to Hair After because according to social media they were able to do a color/dye style called “oil slick” and most places I had spoken with couldn’t do that technique. Their pictures look fantastic online. At my appointment, I showed the stylist pictures of what I was looking for and what I wanted. She agreed that she could do that. One of the first things she did was start coloring my bangs a very dark colors; one I called “black” and she called “dark auburn.” Like most people who go to an expert claiming to know a technique, I figured she was in the right. Once all was said and done, the finished product was beautiful; but not oil slick. The overall color was still black, which completely washed out the color in my face. The other colors were vibrant and unique highlighter colors: pinks, greens, and blues. While not what I wanted, I liked it and believed I could be happy with it.
However, after waiting 48 hours, I washed my hair using products I bought at Hair After that would supposedly protect the color. I was a disaster, all the vibrant colors washed out! I looked like I had washed my hair hundreds of times for months, not just once two days after having the color done. The hot pink turned pastel and looked grungy and grimy. I called the saloon as soon as they were open again and they agreed to try and fix it.
The fix was even worse. I didn’t want them to attempt their funky colors again. I believe they use Manic Panic, the stuff people buy at Hot Topic for barely permanent color; certainly not a product warranting the price and permanency I expected. Since my hair was black (“dark auburn”) they had to dye my whole head a one-dimensional black and put yellow blonde highlights to break up the color. I looked like a peed-on skunk.
I suffered with that horrible black color for two months to let my hair calm from the dyes, then I chopped everything off. What a waste. I have not had short hair in about twenty years; but, because of the travesty of a dye job I had over a foot of hair lopped off in to a pixie cut.
Love, love, love The Hair After. After Marilynne cut my hair today, Tyler dried and styled it. He's extremely talented and made my hair look better than I imagined it could. These people know what they are doing!
