Best KPortal Reviews

We went here for a 60th birthday celebration and had the most amazing meal. The service was excellent, the atmosphere welcoming and the food was divine. Having had an array of dishes, all were exceptional, both the presentation and taste making it the most delightful experience. The sticky toffee pudding in particular was incredible - a taste bud sensation! I recommend a visit, and am already looking forward to my next visit.
The pub has changed hands and after a beautiful refurbishment and brand new kitchen , we were lucky enough to be able to book a table. The food is absolutely amazing. We went for a chicken parfait starter, followed by pork roast. All of it was devoured in minutes it was wonderful. The service was was excellent, very friendly and efficient and we cannot wait to come back
An unbiased Review from Google Food Review team, we came in unannounced to order the 3 course meal which was highly recommended to us, we would like to say the standard of the food is Michelin star ???? presentation and the taste was on parr to your typical London Resturants in which you pay £100-£150 for.
These 3 courses were absolutely divine, and if you want to take your partner our somewhere to impress them then this is the place to take them. The type of food you will be eating here you'll be talking about it to your friends for weeks.
The staff are very friendly and outgoing, the waitresses are very experienced and humble, the Griffin's Head was very clean and toilets were also very clean and stocked up. Would like to see more of a children's menu in the future but it's early days, I can imagine in a couple of weeks and months you'll be having to book a table days/ weeks in advance.
I look forward to coming back again. A very well deserved 5 star review.
For me personally I was very disappointed with the food, would say it is overpriced for what you receive, a supposed ‘pub grub’ seems confused with attempted posh grub and failed Michelin star meals, they seem confused of their identity! the service also not the best, quite a wait for my food and the manners of the staff, not the best either, I think for the price and recent revamp, NOT worth the price you pay, won’t be returning
Absolutely amazing, been looking to back for ages and it was even better than ever, the food was insanely good, if you are looking for cheap nasty pub grub then you will be disappointed but if you are looking for quality well cooked food then get yourself over there xoxo
Lovely pub and have made a real effort to accommodate out door eating and they have semi succeeded we had a great afternoon there for my Mrs birthday great menu and choices we shared the cheese and bread starter and the meat starter between us that was OK scotch egg would of been better hot tbf had a nice aparol spritz. main was amazing pork belly smashed it and the crochet wow ???? (just a shame there was a black hair in it at the end of it) Mrs had the garlic and mushroom pasta that was ridiculously good and the steaks were epic but of smoke in the and the char on it yummy ???? and with drink and coffee and 2 deserts it was 45 a head
Verdict:
Excellent will be back 100%
Also shout out to the waitress seemed a little flustered but great service and went over and above to accommodate us.
Covid compliant clean and everyone masked up
Very tastefully decorated with pleasant staff and happy hour beer prices not cheap but nice country/village pub
Really good food, would recommend. Dinner was amazing. Service a little disjointed when we returned for a lunch.
