Best KPortal Reviews
Not only is the food in here by far the best home cooked meal in the area but the staff, and customers make everyone feel welcome. Whether it be your first stay or you have been there for year, you will soon feel at ease with the locals.
Lounge area is total family friendly with an 8pm curfew for children (lets be fair who wants a child free night to hear children running riot for hours after). Childrens menu is an absolute bargain.
Sunday Carvery is to die for but you have to be fast as its so unreal that its a sell out for both sit down and take away almost every week.
Monday club is a great afternoon to be had by all. Incredible drink prices, games of pool, racing and football on tv, and the local banter at its absolute best.
Weekends have DJ Andy on the decks and karaoke if you fancy a sing song.
This pub is not only well ran but does an awesome amount to give back.
Football team is thee best in town.
Darts team. . Number 1.
Need i say more. Come see for yourself
By far the best pub in Thornaby
£8, can't go wrong. Chips are lush and apparently they will box up anything you can't eat for later. Madri and Stella on tap and friendly staff. Good estate pub.
Great pub meals, the parmos were huge. Went with a group of 12 and everyone enjoyed their meals, no complaints ????
We were in the Griffin yesterday and the meal and Atmospher was great, it is the best pub in the area love it.
Food is really good and staff are brilliant and friendly, draught beers are pretty good but could be better. Draught beers in other local pubs seem to be a bit colder and slightly better tasting. If they get the beer tasting a bit better (colder and sharper) then I would gladly become a regular customer.
The Griffin is a typical estate pub, the decor is lost somewhere late 70s early 80s. The layout is up and down like a fiddlers elbow. Somebody didn't get the memo about disabled access, which wasn't helped by miserable customers blocking access to/ from toilets and was too miserable/bone idle to move. The food was decent pub grub. One of the staff was friendly and helpful, the younger lass seemed like she was sucking a lemon! Went to the Griffin after seeing some posts from in-laws but that will be the last. If you want a decent meal and don't mind ancient carpets/furniture plus the added bonus of miserable punters then fill your boots.
Food cold veg not cooked properly tasteless never fo again !!!!
Great local pub , friendly staff and food is always spot on! Sunday roasts, parmos, fajitas, lunchtime wraps, shepherd's pie , tried them all and never been disappointed . Excellent value for money ????
