New update as of their reopening May 2024 - their menu has changed. They no longer offer custom made breakfast, or lunch it seems(?). There is a premade biscuit breakfast sandwich and a pre made breakfast wrap offered until they run out. They still offer smoothies and coffee and snacks etc.
I am so bummed with these changes. I have food allergies and used to come here for my favorite custom breakfast sandwich or lunch wraps. I assume they had to make these changes (staffing?), but still sad.
The layout changed a bit with 2 tables where the bench used to be, and one long wooden table in the coffee area. I think I like it better but I probably won’t be back now because I can’t eat what’s being offered. ????
It’s a good option if you’re looking to grab something quick and premade for breakfast and don’t have allergies.
Food is good but food prices are more than what menu says. It doesn’t add up or make sense. Ask about prices before you pay
Horrible customer service. We placed an online order and arrived to pick it up when they said it was ready. Immediately upon entering, the woman at the counter frantically started telling us they were closed, even though their website said they closed at 3:00pm and there was an “open” sign hung on their door (we arrived around 2:15/2:30pm).
We explained that their website said they were and that they seem to have accepted our online order. She then referenced our order by name, and said that it was never accepted and we should have received a cancellation notification (which we did not).
We tried explaining that we never received a cancelation message, and she then began insisting that she never received the order (which was a lie as she had just referenced our order by name). As soon as we left, she proceeded to cancel the order and we received a notification.
The Green consistently has poor customer service and mediocre food, all while continuing to charge exorbitant prices. While high prices are the norm for Nantucket, The Green’s poor treatment of their own customers makes it officially not worth visiting. Alternatively, Something Natural, Walter’s, and Bartlett’s Farm are all good options for lunch on Nantucket.
Work brings me to Nantucket often and The Green was always a great mid-island spot for a healthy breakfast or lunch. However, 2023 has not been kind to this business. I don't know what's happened but the food quality has nose-dived while the prices continue to sky-rocket. Dropped by recently - zero cars in the parking lot at 12:30PM - and ordered 4 items to-go for a total of $68. As I sat inside waiting for the order, I scanned the restaurant's interior and was kinda horrified to see the amount of filth on the floor along with the scuffed walls and banged up trim. To top it off, when I returned with our food not only was one item missing but the overall consensus was bland and simply, "not worth the money." For now, The Green is off my list. Hopefully 2024 will bring back quality food and perhaps a coat of paint, or two?
I stopped by for an OJ, but they were out of oranges. I was about to order something else when I saw the cook in the back PICKING HIS NOSE. Absolutely not. I booked it out of there thankfully before I wasted any money.
Food was prepared quickly with fresh ingredients. The Roost was a good sized portion with good flavor. The vegan wrap was a large mix of veggies and hummus. Slightly lackluster in regards to flavor, needed something to upgrade it from a salad wrap. The soup was hot with lots of vegetables. An average lunch, slightly pricey, but that is the way it is at this point in time.
Arrived fresh off a plane and just in time for closing! We we’re able to grab some of the to-go salads and chips: the orzo, roasted chickpea, and egg salad were amazing and hit the spot! The staff was so welcoming and kind for our first time in Nantucket. Making the choice to come to The Greens was a positive start to our weekend and we’ll definitely be back to try all the other items that looked fresh and filling in the menu!
Menu looked good. Service was just okay. Didn't serve smoothies at the time they opened, so don't plan on having one in the morning.
