They have a very good chef and delightfully dippy girls that serve, which add up to a fun lunch.
The food is consistently good (over the year) and the fish dishes and specials are most excellent. The Menu is very good value for money and certainly fills a hungry man (and over fills a lady ....possibly)!
This may be a bit out of town but it is certainly worth the journey.
I must strongly disagree with a wholly unfair review posted approximately a week before this post! I know the owners well enough to know from experience as a cyclist that they are *not* in the least bit anti-cyclist. We cyclists can be a pain in the backside, and yet the owners and all of the staff could not be more friendly or accomodating towards us.
Far from cracking "jokes about cars knocking cyclists off bikes", it is far more likely that friendly and considerate advice was being offered about how dangerous the junction that the pub is close to can be to the unwary - they have helped out a number of unfortunate cyclists in the past, all of whom I suspect would whole-heartedly agree.

Staff were very friendly. Lacked ale and cider selection. Food, while decent portion sizes, was not very good. Chips were served in the coleslaw juice and tasted of old oil. And all salad smelled off. Won't be going back...
