My review is of the food that I recently had while attending an event at the Gideon. I order the Vegetarian meal and thought what a joke until I learn what they served for the Vegan Option.
The meal consisted of a roll which was fresh and tasty then followed by a garden salad, Which was also good. The vegetarian option was Mushroom Ravioli in a cream sauce. It was ok but the meal consist of 9 small ravioli in what amount to a teaspoon of sauce. Of the 9 people sitting at the table 5 of us had this option and none of us were pleased. I commented to our server and she was also in agreement about the food that was given to us. Though it was bad the Vegan option was worst! It consisted of a large salad with 4 small potatoes! Mind you they just had a garden salad as an appetizer! Why is it that Chefs hit a brick wall and can not cook anything when it comes to Vegetarian or Vegan options! A meat option you get the processed roadkill as well mash potatoes and a veggie! I really hope the chefs can get to it and come up with something more creative and appetizing!
A lovely old hotel, and a terrific way to experience Saratoga Springs! We were there the weekend it opened for the season this year, so the restaurant and bar weren’t open. But the room was quiet and comfortable, the bed excellent, the personnel super-pleasant, and the setting (right in the state park) perfect. We hiked the trails, tasted the waters, and chilled. They had a shuttle that took us into town, which made this an easy trip to do without a car. And what a terrific town - great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, shopping. Yeah, look, it’s not a Four Seasons. But it’s a lovely place to hang out. ||Pro tip: Splurge for the Roosevelt Spa. It’s worth it.
This is a beautiful hotel, it maintains its old fashioned charm but the rooms are modern with a great shower and cozy comfortable bed. The main town and neighboring Ballston Spa is quick 8-10 car ride away. The grounds are gorgeous and beautiful to walk and hike, with the spa close by. My husband and I enjoyed “taking the waters” and sampling the different mineral springs, which are invigorating and led to vigorous relations several times during the trip. The staff was polite and the all around vibe was stellar.
5. Newly refurbished rooms. Excellent breakfast. In the park and close to the trails and streams. Quiet and peaceful.this was my second time at the property and it did not disappoint. Coffee|Machines in the room. Complimentary water and WiFi. Clean with good amenities and enough spare covers, bath robes and towels.
A beautiful, peaceful setting steps from winding walking trails thru the woods. Attentive staff. Comfortable, nicely appointed room. Relax on the porch rockers. Breakfast buffet had a lot to choose from. It's only a short drive to downtown Saratoga Springs with lots of stores and restaurant options.
Old fashion and historical hotel, room style very old but it’s inside the National Park, good to relax for vacation.
Also employees are friendly and nice.
The hotel has shuttle bus between downtown and the hotel, first come, first serve.????????
