I recently visited Weldon with a group of friends for a long weekend. We visited both of the pubs in the village and found both to be friendly and welcoming, despite both being very busy on Friday and Saturday night.
We visited the George Weldon on the Saturday for something to eat and a few beers. The pub was very busy but also friendly. We couldn't initially get seats together, due to the size of our group, but managed to get a couple of tables together a little later. We all ordered food, which was really tasty, service was very good and reasonably priced.
We stayed for a few more beers, and couldn't fault the place. Lovely atmosphere, great service and very friendly. Well worth a visit.

Only went for a drink. The barmaid was ok but the landlord not so. If you don't come from the area don't bother. Very clickey. Went in there with my friend who recently moved to the area but because of our London accent we was not made welcome. I felt for my friend as she lives close by & will not go in there again. There is so much more I want to write about but I don't like using bad language. Bottom line AVOID!
Went here for dinner on a Monday night as neither of us wanted to cook after a long day at work. The girl behind the bar was super friendly and helpful.
The food was really good, I had the pie which was really tasty and full. My husband had the chicken burger on the special board and said it was really good.
We will be back as this is our most local pub and we want to give quiz night ago
My Son and I stopped off here for a Sunday lunch. Expecting it to be busy, but wasn't. The service was prompt from the friendly staff. The roast was lovely nice and hot and tasty too..our only grumble being we should have gone for a small roast. Thank you. Recommended

Spent a lovely family day at the George for Easter. The staff were very friendly & very keen to help. The food was amazing & well presented. It was busy but the food came in good time & was enjoyed by us all. A wonderful day & really happy with the great food & service we received. Lovely staff & good quality food. Highly Recommended to all.
Great service! Great food and massive portions of food at that! Will be back. Good atmosphere and nice they play music as well as the big screens as well.
