My mom and I enjoyed the pastry basket. The French roast is enough to share. You can't go wrong with a side of pastrami. Interesting to have Vietnamese iced coffee on the menu. Being Vietnamese, we HAD to try it. It had a nice strong flavor. The only miss is that they didn't have any extra sweetened condensed milk so we could adjust the taste. Regular table sugar doesn't really taste the same. But overall great breakfast!
As someone who lived in NYC before, the vibes here were high. I went with the Avenue A bagel and I’ll give it a 4 out of 5. The bagel was good, but I felt like it needed more overall to really get that 5 rating. The sticky bun however 10/10 we got one when we picked up our to-go order with some coffee and that was our favorite part of the experience. Excited to go back and try other bagels!
Distinguished and delicious. It is a unique Jewish-rooted delicatessen and bakery which are hard to find down south, but refined in its own way. We enjoyed the Reuben, poutine, matzoh ball soup & homemade side of potato salad. We also grabbed a pastry basket to take home. Wish we came on a Sunday when they have their spaghetti dinner special. They have a full coffee bar and great location. Tough to beat!
I was there for an conference event with a set menu. The appetizers were devilled eggs and a pickle plate (pickles, cucumber, and yellow tomatoes). They were good but not exceptional for me.
The main course was a braised salmon and it was incredible. With the brussel sprouts it had great flavor. My only complaint was that the rice was a little crunchy, but still good and well flavored.
Dessert was the Classic Cookie plate, and they were all great. Definitely get the black and white cookie if you don't get anything else.
Our servers were fantastic and the restaurant was very clean and fitting for a dinnertime vibe.
Food was amazing. Atmosphere very cute. Our server Brian was very attentive and kind! Can’t recommend this place enough.
Ordered take out and somehow my order didn't transfer to the kitchen. I ended up waiting almost 40 minutes for a sandwich and soup. Staff member didn't apologize for the very long wait or offer any discount.
On a positive note, the tomato bisque soup is very delicious.
Prices have gone up tremendously from when I visited a while back, however the food was good, and was able to take some home for later, & the hot chocolate was right on time because it was cold out... delicious ????
What an amazing place. Old school deli with out of bounds flavors. Rolled with the hash and lights out with the perfect texture. Wife rolled with the General and you could rename it the five star General for sure. Eggs done right with the most delicious pastrami ever with an added bonus on the potato latkes. What a great breakfast and perfect way to start our days. If you are looking for some old school real deal deli classics this is your place.✌️????
