This is one of the most amazing homestyle restaurants I have ever been in. The bread is home made, the food is the definition of comfort, and the people are kind and helpful. The chicken fried steak is to die for, covered in white gravy with a side of mashed potatoes and some green beans. Oh my goodness. My stomach is grumbling just thinking about it. The best part is the pie. We had the cinnamon cream, and, y'all, it is like eating heaven. It tastes just like a horchata but better.
I worked in St. John a few years ago, and we would drive to Stafford to eat lunch every day they were open. Everything that we had was excellent. You have to have the pie, especially the cinnamon cream pie and the peanut butter meringue!
The best! We stopped for lunch. I had the Reuben and my wife had the Cobb salad. The best Reuben I've ever had. They don't even mention it's on homemade bread. The owner, staff and food are absolutely 5 star. Thank you for the good experience in the middle of Kansas.

This restaurant is worth traveling to Stafford to enjoy. All the ingredients are fresh and healthy and everything is made from scratch. The hamburgers are a full 1/2 pound and have creative toppings. I've enjoyed the Reuben sandwiches, Cobb salad, and ribs and loved them all. The sweet potato fries are crisp. Potato chips are homemade too. There are different pies every day, but the cinnamon cream pie and the peanut butter meringue are especially good. You can buy your cinnamon rolls Saturday night to eat for breakfast on Sunday. Music on Saturday night adds to the fun and community spirit.
Wow what a great place to visit and eat. Food was wonderful. Fresh ingredients and tasty. Just what I needed. Will definitely go back. If your in the area I recommend you stop and have a bite.
