Great high class dining and great food tucked away here in a small town. We started off with the bacon wrapped shrimp with a maple sauce and a lime aoli and the we had two wood fired pizzas. The food was great the service was great, definitely coming back.
The first time we went to The Garden in New Berlin, one of us had his entree served in a bowl which was chipped all around the rim. The place was very crowded so we ate and left. We went back a second time tonight and told our waitress about this previous problem. She said she was sorry and that she would make sure that that did not happen again. The appetizer we ordered never appeared but after a bit of waiting, I received my entree. Then the manager came out with the other one of our entrees in a bowl with at least three chips in it!! He said he had heard about our prior experience and had thrown out the badly chipped bowl. When we pointed out the chips in the bowl he had just set down, he asked if we wanted another bowl for the entree! This was just after our waitress said that our appetizer was served to another table by mistake and "did we want to have another one for free?" Since I had already had been served my entree, we declined the offer. We were taken aback that it seemed that no one waiting on us was very concerned about this debacle of a meal. I gave it two stars as the food was good but the poor quality of the service made us decide that we would not be returning to The Garden. Even if the place was less expensive, we would still expect to be served our food on dishes that were not marked with big chips!!!
Their outdoor seating area is the best place anywhere nearby to enjoy a meal. Beautiful surroundings, great food, lovely drinks and great service. This is my go to place for fine dining.
The scallop carbonara was delicious and the brussel sprouts were amazingly good. They even have delicious pizza! We got one to go and had for dinner the next night. The Rusty Goat is my favorite.
Only a very short drive from town to eat under the moon and stars. Can't wait to come back.
Does an excellent restaurant really exist in the middle of Illinois between corn fields and a gas station? You betcha! One of THE best places to eat in Illinois, it even rivals the fancy places in Chicago. You won't be disappointed.
Great place great service, great food. A little hard to find but worth the effort. I had the lamb and it was the best I have ever been served. Appetizers out of sight. Great wine selection. I would highly reccomend.
The food was wonderful. Cooked & seasoned perfectly. We had the stuffed prawns & lamb lollipops for appetizers. Maybe a little overpriced but they were so good I didn't care and I'll order them again. For dinner we had the tortellini carbonara & filet, both delicious and will recommend to anyone. I was sad that there was no desert menu because at a place like this I can only imagine it would be superb!
Starting with goat cheese croquettes and steak bites really set our expectations high as the plates left completely cleaned. Scallop carbonara and lamb "lollipops" were hands down the best meal out I've had anywhere in many moons. Highly recommend! Dont let the small town fool you this restaurant would fit in with the most ostentatious neighborhood of any large city.
Exceptional food and service. If you get a chance you can't go wrong with anything on the menu at The Garden. The quality and attention to detail are worth the trip if you're looking for somewhere unique to grab a bite.
