Pre visiting I asked whether they served Vegan options as my friend and I were visiting Bewdley for the day we wanted to find somewhere nice to have a cake and coffee. I received the most thorough response via Facebook confirming the vegan options which was so delightful and further met my expectations when we arrived to see all were labelled with allergens and whether it was vegan or not- which is a massive win! I can’t say how the main-meal food was as I only had a cake, but the cake was the most delicious, light, fluffy and scrumptious cake I’ve had in a while, I’m still thinking of it now!
Safe to say I’ll be returning back as quickly as possible. The only thing that I would say was we sat under the marquee and due to the storm it was very blustery, so I think maybe some additional reinforcements on the sides of the marquee to try and attach it better would be pleasant as it did get quite noisy! Not their fault we went in a storm though haha.
My other half and I used to love coming here for a ploughman's lunch, which included a decent pork pie. But this latest visit wasn't the best. They've stopped doing pork pies, there was no ham left so had a double helping of cheese instead which was too much, and we ordered 2 for each of us, but instead of being served on separate plates, it was brought out all on one plate as a sharing platter type thing. They should've said this was how it was going to be served whilst ordering it. Not sure if it's changed owners since the last time, but certainly not as good. Certainly expected better for £11 each.
Took my niece for their afternoon tea and live music event on 15.06.23., and as usual everything was perfect! Delicious food, the Victoria sponge cake was the best I’ve ever had, happy and friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Fab vegetarian options as usual
Lovely little café that's part of the (free) museum in the courtyard. All the seating is outside in a covered but mostly open area. It was busy when we went so we had to scavenge for chairs from other tables and there were only 4 of us. You order at the till and they will bring it to you... Staff were very nice. Coke comes in bottles... No parking
I had a wonderful Afternoon Tea with my granddaughter here yesterday. Kay gave us a very personalised service and my granddaughter loved her birthday treat! The food was excellent! Freshly made, delicious sandwiches! Quality ham, tasty egg mayo and two very flavoursome vegan options; hummus, lettuce and tomato, and bhaji, chutney and slaw! The scones were melt-in-your-mouth scones, served with clotted cream, blackberry jam and a butter option! We loved the lemon drizzle slice but we were both too full to enjoy the generous slice of coffee and walnut cake. Kay kindly put the 2 slices into a cake-away box and my granddaughter took it home for her and her sister. Her sister said that it was extremely good!
Excellent service at this lovely family run café, with equally excellent staff!
Kay went above and beyond to make it an extra special treat for the birthday girl and me! Our table was set with a pretty table cloth and the tea was served in beautiful crockery! Loved the fresh berries too!
Thank you so much for making it such an enjoyable afternoon Kay and the team! Lovely seeing and chatting with Colin, Sarah and family too! ????
Dog friendly which is very important to me, food was excellent and the service was excellent made you feel wanted, attached to jubilee Park which is a haven of tranquility, great gardens fabulous museum which is free entry, with outst little craft shops within, well worth a visit.
Lovely stop off on our way home from a mini break in Shropshire. We had coffee and bakewell tart. My husband was pleased with the local charity shops too with excellently priced books.
Second visit here with friends as it’s a firm favourite of theirs. Food has been delicious both times, with generous portions and great prices. We’ll be introducing more people to this wonderful “secret”.
