After the very unprofessional experience at The Haywain a week before, we decided to have our evening meal out at The Gamekeeper. I checked they were serving food and made a reservation an hour before. The pub was quite busy but this was not reflected in the excellent service and food quality we received. The food order was taken quickly and the food was served in good time. Tasty it was too. The friendly staff checked that everything was satisfactory. We will become regulars at The Gamekeeper from now on.
A great find whilst on holiday. Searched local pubs for a quick dinner nearby. It was just past 8pm and whilst others stopped food at that time, this pub was 9pm and they booked a table for us straight away. I took my 10 year old daughter and young dog - both got a lot of attention. They are very dog friendly and also good choice being I am vegetarian - especially Sunday roast. There was a singer performing and she was really good. Staff were very friendly. Food was great. Had such a good time, we booked for a Sunday lunch the next day and had the same experience. As we are nearby often, it will be a regular choice. I would definitely recommend.
Such a lovely pub, great food and super friendly service. We had a family meal, really enjoyed the pretty interior and attentive service.
Booked a table of 30 for a 40th birthday Sunday lunch , from the manager Kerry to all the staff and the chef involved it was amazing. Kerry thank you so much for all your help. And all you and your team done. From the decorations to the food which was perfect.
Popped in here for some food whilst staying nearby. Service was okay, we were given a couple of options of seating as they had a quiz due on, we opted for the garden. It Didn't have the best feel to the place but the food was good and of decent size portions, we didn't have any issues.
It is a nice place to have some food with the family and to go out with friends in the evening.
I'm not too sure they expected the number of people that came Saturday night. Only two serving
Great pub, super range of beers & lovely atmosphere. Beautiful countryside & fantastic walks.
