Best KPortal Reviews
The galley has been on our list of places to try for quite some time so when we found out we would be halfway there on Saturday we booked a table right away and made the journey up. There is plenty of parking and the view across the harbour is nice. Inside is very cozy with a real fire in the corner as you enter. The food was as we expected very good quality and decent sized portions. The stand out for me was the smoked haddock goujons, I'd never tried battering smoked fish before but I will now. Will definitely be back again soon.
Highly recommend, but booking in advance is advisable. We were luck. The restaurant is on the harbour with good parking and a short walk up to a grass area where you could walk your dog.
We ordered the share fish platter which was amazing, coming with two small cups of Cullen skink (very nice).
The staff were very friendly and polite.
It was great to see a map of the world where you can find where people have come from from around the globe.
Certainly would go back again.
Had a meal here last night. The food was delicious. Mussels and Cullen Skink were both amazing, as was the Seabass and the chicken and scampi. Would have loved to try the creme brulee but had no room! Will just have to go back! Staff were very welcoming and friendly and the service was brilliant. Would highly recommend eating here. View is pretty spectacular too.
Drawn to this place by photos of other dishes in reviews. We were abit disappointed, none of the nice looking food available in other reviews was on the menu, I guess it is seasonal. The scallops came cold and all the battered items lacked any seasoning. It wasn't great quality for the price charged. The cullen skink was very good. Staff were nice. Perhaps we just ordered the wrong food? We would come back again depending on the menu.
Absolutely delicious. Lovely warm welcoming restaurant with lovely views of the harbour. Had the seafood sharing platter and special seafood linguine for main. Was loads of food and if I could have fitted a dessert in, I bet it would have been delicious. Lush staff also! Very much recommend this little gem.
Brilliant meals. Highly recommend. Friendly and pleasant staff. Mussels were the best I've ever tasted. Sauce nice and thick and tasty. Can't wait to go back.
Great little place with views of the harbour. The staff were lovely and the food came very quickly. I had the haddock and chips and I can safely say that they're the best chunky chips I've had in years. I would definitely go back and try some of the other things on the menu
We look forward to eating here every time we come to Scotland. The BEST smoked haddock we have ever had. The cullen skink is delicious and the traditional prawn cocktail is fresh and full of flavour. Don't skip pudding! The cheesecakes never disappoint. The service is always prompt and it's nice to see a familiar smiling face when we walk through the door. This place never disappoints. This place literally got us through the lockdown blues. We just kept saying "As soon as it's safe to go, we're heading up to Whitehills and having the smoked haddock. No messing . Straight in. Prawn cocktail starter, smoked haddock and then the biggest piece of cheesecake they've got. Oh and some wine!"
It's so good we're going back tonight for another meal. And if they weren't starting winter hours, we would be back a third night in a row. Love this place and love the friendly ladies who work there : )
