What a delight. Such a friendly and positive experience.
We had a gorgeous afternoon tea, with plenty of choice and tasty treats. Beautiful china and silver cutlery made for a really special feel.
Refills galore and the offer to take home a doggy bag because there was too much to eat in one sitting.
Fabulous setting, basking in the sun overlooking the sea. We will certainly be back soon.
Thank you all for making our Anniversary so memorable ❤️
Lovely quality homemade food, brilliant service, and amazing views of the Bay. Dog friendly. Nice friendly staff. They were about to close the kitchen when we arrived but kindly accommodated our party of six and did desserts too.
Pub with a beautiful view, large garden and smart clean interior. The food was excellent, very tasty and hot, also hot plates - very good! Great beer quality, well kept and good temperature. Good variety of gins to choose from. Nice welcome and definitely recommended a visit.
Nice view from a garden. If you go for a dinner better get early as on Sat by 7.30pm there was already a sign that stopped serving food. Was lucky enough to get there before 7.
We had a lovely meal here. It was our local to the holiday house we were staying at. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Food was fresh and very tasty, prices good. Would definitely return and recommend.
Ordered Fish & Chips for my wife & I and was left distinctly unimpressed. The microwave pinging away whilst we were waiting for our food was a sign of things to come. The battered fish was absolutely scorching hot, far hotter than you could achieve by deep frying - was it microwaved? The lack of flavour and general sogginess of the batter certainly suggested so. Same went for the chips, scorching but with that leathery outer which again suggested microwave cooking. Looking out to sea (there is a nice view) you fondly imagine a guy with his rod catching your fish a day or two before it lands on your plate, but no such luck. It's not that the food wasn't edible, but the fact you're being charged £25 for it left us feeling a bit sore. Atmosphere didn't really invite feedback either, despite what the owner has said in response to other reviews, and we had to move on quickly anyhow - best to cut our losses and run.
Absolutely love this place!
The welcome is warm, good food cooked well. So fresh and locally sourced! We had the grilled fish - how they cook it so moist is an absolute mystery to me but it really is the bees knees!
Today was a personal favourite as we were first to order and the fat was new the chef reassured us that we could have their lovely chips with our meal - usually have their new potatoes (lovely too) I'm coeliac and feel completely safe here as the staff know their food, premises and are knowledgeable and understanding of my difficulties.
So lovely to come back here ????
They're dog friendly which is a great pull especially with so many great walks on the doorstep.
Would thoroughly recommend in a heartbeat!
We were there during our holidays in Freshwater East. It is a very nice location with good food and an incredibly friendly staff. One day, they squeezed us in, even though they were already fully booked. Another day the cook drove us personally to the next station, when we were late for our train on a Saturday noon. How nice is that?
