Went in early doors, but was told don't do food in the evening, but had a couple of beers instead and was pleased with my ale ,it was superb I had the hpa a favourite of mine but itwas one of the best I've ever tasted, also they have 3other ales on.Itwas and old fashioned pub very nice and tidy inside, definitely will call in again when working over that way.
Loving this friendly pub, really busy Tuesday lunchtime! Great beer, reasonably priced good food. Would happily recommend this canalside pub - children and dogs only at certain times, phone to check.
Quiet pub people seem nice but the locations next to a main road. Constant cars etc.
Brilliant just want to keep going back I run a art class at tipton library and 13 of us went this Monday not 1 complaint.
The home of the Tipton slasher bare knuckle fighter. William Perry was a bare knuckle champion in the 1850 to 1857. In 1836 he trained at the Fountain Inn and is a local Victorian legend even today. The pub is nice and cosy and has got a nice selection of beers. It also serves food and there's a outdoor seating area as well.
I have never experienced such an unfriendly reception from any pub. We walked from The Pie Factory to The Fountain to show our Irish friend some Black Country history and hospitality. There was about 6 customers in the pub. It was 10.45.The lady at the bar said she wouldn't serve us because we hadn't been in the pub before 10.45. IIt really wouldn't have created a problem for her to serve us one drink. She made sure we were left feeling this was a most unwelcoming place.
Love coming back here the staff are friendly and always remember us, great choice of real ale dog friendly does lunch Mon to Thurs and rolls and pork pies locals are great always chatty with us
Have always loved the fountain, not over priced, great atmosphere, no riff raff , great Tipton pub.
