We Called in last night after a day out,
The Farriers is perfectly situated on the X15 bus route with the bus stop right at the door
We ordered a pint of Madri and then we ordered fish and chips from “Off the hook” chippy van situated in the Car park to the rear of the pub
The F&C were THAT good we ate them before taking a pic ???? the best bit was we sat in the comfort of the bar to eat them, what’s not to love,
“Off the Hook” are at the Farriers every Saturday night serving freshly cooked chippy goodies from 1730hrs to 1930 hrs
The Pub is open every day from 5pm as it doubles as The Running Fox through the day
The Farriers is one of the last true Northumbrian pubs , proper beer with real people
Great British pub. Friendly staff. No meals served but Running Fox cafe right next door.
Great little pub with fantastic real ale, keeps the beer very well
Delightful experience at the Running Fox. I am gluten and dairy intolerant and was amazed at the scrummy high tea food, thoroughly recommend it.
The staff were so helpful and attentive yet not pestering.

The Farriers Arms now serves well kept, local real ales and a decent selection of single malts. With a good atmosphere and helpful, friendly service this is a cracking little village pub.
This is a typical local's local. But that's what makes it popular. Make no mistake, visitors are very welcome and are often invited to join in friendly arguments about football or the world stage...but always light hearted.
Very well priced drinks, although not the greatest of choices...their John Smith, smooth, is a great pint...and I'm a real ale or top end lager drinker.
Not quite sure why there are comments on here for The Running Fox, cafe? As that is a totally different business?
If you live in Shilbottle, support The Farriers Arms...or risk losing it. If you pass by...drop in, they will make you welcome.
Beware of the dogs that are allowed to lay out on the floor, making trips to the toilets...a real route march.
Recommended.
Confusing opening hours, told you could get served if there was tables free but was turned away???? shame as its my local
