Best KPortal Reviews

Mom and I had to go lunch from The Farmhouse in Holiday Island, AR and it was amazing. Highly recommend the Farmyard Sandwhich (open wide????????) which comes with the choice of a side. The fries were good ????. Mom had the Mudcat Plate which she said was crispy, delicious, and seasoned perfectly????. The hot sauce was an extra touch. It came with hush puppies, coleslaw, and tartar sauce which she said was on point! Her side of choice was the mashed potatoes and gravy which was tasty as well... overall 10 out of 10. The owner was very friendly and they have another restaurant in Eagle Rock, Mo called Office Pub & Steak House. Gonna have to try there next.
Drove over from Beaver Dam, we had eaten there once before and it was okay. We read the reviews and thought we would give them another try since most reviews are pretty good. Our first experience we were able to sit inside with my wife's service dog but tonight we were told we had to sit on the patio which was okay since it was a pleasant night. My wife had the salad which she was not happy with and I had the pork tenderloin sandwich and fries. The fries were really good. My sandwich however was really thick because it hadn't been pounded or tenderized. It had good flavor but because of the thickness it was raw in the middle, the dog liked it. My main issue was our service. Our waitress smoked at a table next to us and I don't smoke and it ruins the flavor of the meal. I ran out of tea and she told me that she would bring me some but she never returned and I had to ask the girl that was busting tables. Then someone that appeared to be the manager and his wife showed up, I guess the live there. He was reading reviews or something on his phone and having a conversation about staff, etc with our waitress. She did tell him how awesome a waitress she is. I didn't get that kind of service. Oh I almost forgot, fries wasn't my first choice but I was told they were out of onion ring batter. I don't think we will be back.
Come hungry! I had the Mawmaw’s breakfast and the wife had the Pawpaw’s breakfast. They were delicious and way more than we could eat.
They have a luxury burger line up here. I had the Fungus burger and you should too if you can’t decide. They cooked up the waffle sweet potato fries fresh and they were crispy.
We ate here on Saturday night and had the steak special which included a dinner salad, steak (8 oz I believe), and loaded baked potato. It was VERY good. What blew my mind was the price. For two dinners and two drinks, our total was only $36. Unbelievable! The waitress was so friendly and attentive. Here is my one and only suggestion to this restaurant: I am one of those weird people who want steak sauce, no matter how amazing the steak is. It’s hard for me to eat meat without sauce. Your steak truly doesn’t need sauce because it was tender and perfectly seasoned, but again, I’m a weirdo and wanted my A1.
The only good thing about this restaurant is that it won't last a year! These people haven't got a clue about how to run a restaurant. They refused to seat us inside because of my service dog. She was wearing her bright pink vest with service dog on both sides. This is a major ADA violation and carries a large fine if reported. The service was terrible. The staff was dressed appropriately for yard work, not a restaurant. Dirty, ill-fitting, and very unprofessional. That includes the couple who were running around in matching flannel pajama pants. The food was sub-par at best. I have had better prepared salads from a gas station. The pork tenderloin was neither pounded nor breaded, it was a raw in the middle, fatty, sirloin cut with a lot of gristle. Our waitress sat at the table next to us and smoked while we were eating. We were never offered drink refills or dessert. Our check was presented five minutes after the food arrived.
First major tourist weekend and they were out of a lot of products and very understaffed. The food was good, but every other part of our experience was less than desirable. Definitely a pass for us next time.
The food was phenomenal! Had the haystack and I will be craving it until I return and can eat it again. Staff was very friendly and helpful with my usual tourist questions like "what would you pick between these" "which meat would you pick" type of stuff. The view on the patio was amazing and the fans kept flies from bugging us. Will definitely return on our next visit to the area!
