No frills and no big fancy menu but the food is on point. My husband appreciated the generous amount of bacon on the BLT and the fried shrimp was perfectly cooked. We liked the fries and the sweet tea was perfect!
Great little restaurant and shop with delicious food and fast, friendly service.
Not sure why you would be near here, unless, like us....you take the roads less traveled.
Jan 2024 service was better, food still great!
March 2023 udate, service has gone downhill a little, last 2 times food has been wrong and we are rushed out. Tonight, she asked if we needed boxes as soon as we got our food. I'm not thrilled like we used to be with service.
..Update! I've been going here on the regular, and they never fail. Consistent with the food. Service is spectacular. Zero complaints still!
It is an adorable place and a little hard to find. Looks like a country store, but there IS a restaurant. I love the atmosphere here. Different tables, cool light fixtures, and wonderful decor. The hushpuppies with maple syrup and powdered sugar were delicious. We ordered ribeyes with red potatoes loaded....this is how I judge food; if you reach for the salt, it is done wrong. I actually looked at the salt and wondered why it was there. Not needing seasonings is a sign of great food. I feel like this is a 5-star restaurant in casual attire. The 70 dollars we spent on 2 steaks, 4 sides, 2 drinks and all you can eat shut your mouth puppies was less than what I have paid at restaurants in downtown Savanah and The Farmhouse has them tied in my book. The food here is definitely reservation and cloth napkin worthy.
Try it out, and drive out of your way to go. You won't be sorry you did.
I almost forgot. The best, BEST banana pudding I have ever had, way better than sweet potatoes (they are famous for their banana pudding). Just go see for yourself
Food was awesome. Great Food selection. Service was lacking a little, but very nice person.
The food overall was good. However, I ordered the buffalo chicken wings, and first go around got a honey barbecue sauce instead. I do not like barbecue wings. So I sent them back. By the time I got them again, my husband was done eating and ready to go. I instantly noticed that it didn't appear to be buffalo sauce, again. I gave it a go, tried it. Was told it was there version of buffalo sauce... It was more like a honey mustard. So needless to say, I didn't eat. Wasn't a fan at all of the wings. Cornbread was very dry and overcooked. My husband got a burger. He enjoyed his sides, mashed potatoes, fries, and Lima beans. But not so much the burger. He said he didn't care for the sauce on it. The server was very kind. She was busy, but kept up well with all of her tables. Just bummed over the sauces really. The food would have been amazing had they had the right flavor sauces on the meat.
1st time and it wont be my last. Shrimp n grits on point. Fried oysters on point. Shrimp n steak good but not the best. All was freshly prepared. Took an 1 hour to get the food which is why I couldn't give 5 stars.
They need to learn what seasoning is. I got a chicken sandwich and it tasted like there was just bread. Pretty sure there was more flour than chicken on the tiny tenders between the buns. I couldn’t swallow without water and even with water it was tough. My wife got the grilled flounder and there may have been 6 specks of black pepper. She said it tasted like nothing, tartar sauce was mandatory. My son got shrimp tacos which was alright. The fries came out room temp and soggy. Again no seasoning on fries, not even salt and pepper. Maybe I came on a bad night. All the other guests seemed to know each other and enjoy the place, but I didn’t. Just no taste.
Always good food and service. I love their strawberry chicken salad. Mmm yum!
We also go there every year for Thanksgiving!! Great farm to table
