Had to leave the bar tonight as the young barman was talking about how all of East London was Muslim ("you could see half a mile that way, half a mile the other way, all Muslim and the only thing open was a mosque") and how the Kray twins were good lads because, "they looked after their own".
It's a bar stuck 30 years in the past that needs new owners or needs to close down. It's my local and I'll never go in again. Do not go here.
I wandered in as a lost northern tourist, and ended up with the landlord buying me a pint, and one of the locals giving me a tour of the local pubs - these are lost establishments and MUST be supported. The hospitality in this part of Devon is phenomenal.
Walked in with friends to be to be told to get out just because one person was abit drunk no one else was but he way really rude an shouted so loud everybody stared at us there was no need for it, never felt so humiliated in all my life and never met someone so abrupt, definitely not kid friendly.
Absolutely fantastic. Myself and a colleague found ourselves stranded at Countess Wear on Thursday 1st March 2018 due to the snow. We gingerly carried on towards Topsham and the Exeter Inn was the first Pub we came to. Thank God for Pete and Sharon the most excellent publicans. We explained our plight and they very kindly offered to put us up for the night. Absolute saviours! We had a very enjoyable evening at the bar chatting with the locals and consuming some of the range of fine ales and ciders that were on offer. We felt very welcomed by all patrons. The Pub has a brilliant atmosphere, one that sadly seems all but lost these days. So nice to drink in a proper Public House rather than some over priced trendy joint! I can't recommend this place highly enough. 3 cheers for the Exeter Inn!
Nice friendly cosy pub with good choice of drinks, real ales etc at reasonable prices
Beer is well looked after, descent selection of ales, largers and spirits for everyones' tastes. Pleasant, helpful staff. Very friendly local pub. Not a dive or a yuppy bar.
A classic local pub, the type that is very much in decline these days.
A great range of well kept ales on offer and very reasonable prices.
This is clearly a pub where the local people of Topsham meet to talk and drink. Everyone seemed to know each other. Despite this, as an 'outsider', I was made to feel very welcome and everyone was friendly.
No food but a range of bar snacks are available. Pool table, dartboard and TV's with a variety of sports on offer.
One of Topsham last real pubs has a good beer selection most sports shown on TV, good atmosphere and if your lucky good banging tunes on the jukebox
