Monday evening visit, so not the busiest. The food was lovely, we went for the cheaper banquet. Head of house was friendly ands attentive. Young girl serving our take was too keen to clear the plates, still chewing when we asked her to wait 5 minutes on more than 1 occasion. Overall we enjoyed it & would recommend.
Top notch dim sum, every dish was delicious!
First Visit:
pork and prawn dumplings, 9/10 superb. Tasty and juicy.
hot and sour soup, 10/10, so delicious we finished it before we even thought to take a picture.
chicken feet, 8/10, good flavour, nicely prepped
fried radish 'cake' with pork, 7/10, good flavour, very tender - perhaps a little too tender
beef rice noodle rolls, 8/10, simple and delicious
Very impressed with the dim sum here, and good value too. We'll be back to try more of the menu!
24/12/2023 update:
Said we'd come back, and glad we did! Still not had a bad dish from this chef, absolute top work! This time we had;
chicken and sweetcorn soup: 8/10, lovely and creamy with nice juicy chunks of chicken.
mixed platter crispy pork and roast duck: 9/10 so crunchy and tasty.
mixed vegetables, 8/10: fresh and tasty, good counterbalance to the oilier dishes.
mapo tofu, 9/10: lovely mala flavour with tender tofu chunks
Truly a rare treat in Edinburgh. Pork knuckles in black bean sauce are incredibly delicious, this dish requires intricate preparation. Stir-fried beef noodles aren't easy to master, but they've done well, it's absolutely delicious.
I came here with my family and we didnt expect much because we came just because we passed by but turned out we love everything we ordered! the foods are all great, the chasiu bbq is so tender and flavorful, dimsum also tasty and well made. service is also friendly, glad we came ???????? thank you and keep it up!
This hidden gem next to Waverley Station is a must! I came here for Dim Sum one day whilst waiting for my train, and just had to come back for more and try other things.
They really know how to do their roast meats - the char sui is so tender and juicy, and the duck has the best, crispiest skin. My favourite thing was the braised pork knuckle, though! Full of so much flavour, the meat was cooked to perfection. You get the feel you are getting home cooking, made with love but with amazing restaurant service.
Would fully recommend to anyone, best Chinese food I’ve had in Edi!!
We had really great dim sum here! The dumplings were fresh and made so skillfully. My favorite was the fried bean curd skin dumplings! The chili crisp was homemade and just the perfect amount of spicy! They served our dim sum with a perfect oak Chardonnay, which is hard to find! I couldn’t be happier or more impressed. Thank you for great food and service.
Authentic chinese restaurant! We had the fried squid with peppercorn salt (10/10) for the spices and crunchiness; the sijidou was crunchy ???? (10/10); the cumin lamb had the right amount of spice (9/10) ????; the fried rice wok hey (10/10) ????; and the egg tarts were warm and gooey but had such a crispy crust (10/10) ♥️. Prices and portion size were reasonable, and the service was so friendly! Highly recommend this place to anyone craving some great sichuan/dimsum cuisine ????
In an area surrounded by chain restaurants possibly more focused on image than food quality this place is a beacon not to be overlooked. Great quality food, generous portions, served by polite staff at very reasonable prices. No flash or gimmicks.
I'd recommend the 2 meat platter to share, bit crispy pork and poss' duck, egg fried rice, mixed veg. Plenty for all. Pot of Chinese tea to wash down....
Enjoy
