Very cool building. Staff was great and very friendly. I ordered the prime rib special and was less than impressed. The au jus was fantastic. The meat not so much. Decent flavor but nowhere close to fresh. The surrounding 3 tables and myself ordered it so 5 plates of mediocre meat. Flavor was ok, but it had definitely been cut and sitting out a while.
Garden veggies were frozen bagged vegetables and most were too hard to eat. I had eaten 2 peices of broccoli and 1 cauliflower and what's in the bowl is the rest.
Really good food! There wasn't a wait on a sat night about 5pm, which was nice. I got the Mac and cheese, which was more alfredo than Mac and cheese, but I wasn't mad, it was good! The jambalaya was really good! Really good flavor! Shrimp were huge. Kids cheese burger was also large! Plenty of seating. The owners also stopped in twice to check with us to make sure we were doing good since it was our first time. Pepsi products. Prices were really fair. I've been to more expensive places and food wasn't as good. The only thing that could be better was the bread that was served with our meals, in my opinion. We'll definitely be back!
Staff was prompt and friendly. We were seated in a booth which was in a little cozy nook, and really cut down on the noise level so we could all converse comfortably. Kitchen was very accommodating to special requests. And the food was tasty-- everyone was pleased. I had the airline chicken which was savory with a creamy sauce, loads of veggies which were nicely seasoned. Daughter had the Mac & cheese and loved it. Mom had the jambalaya pasta, really enjoyed the flavor and will get at least one more meal out of the leftovers. Remainder of our party had the grilled pork tenderloin, and Philly steak sandwich. Excellent all around --staff, food, environment.
Great food and staff! I had one of the nightly specials, lamb shank, and it was great. Wife had the Cioppino and loved it. Service was outstanding! A+!
A college graduation party was made extra special by the Edison staff from the owner to wait staff and all others. Thank you all for making our grandson's celebration perfect.
Not all of Edison's experiments were winners.
Let's just say The Edison's experiment with industrial chic rebooting the previous Mexican restaurant was not a resounding success. Walking in, my hopes for an interesting new atmosphere were immediately dashed. The exposed brick, generic posters, and excessive hanging lights—complete with dangling Edison bulbs, their namesake—felt like a Pinterest board gone wrong.
The food was equally disappointing. Mediocre bar fare at best, the spinach artichoke dip was a culinary dud. The fish sandwich and fries were both unremarkable and bland. My cucumber mule wasn't exactly a top-ten contender either.
The music, however, perfectly complemented the experience. An endless stream of country anthems like "Texas Tornado" and "John Deere Green" had me questioning the entire aesthetic. But hey, at least it was entertaining!
Food: 2 stars | Drinks: 2 stars | Service: 3 stars | Atmosphere: 2.5 stars (for entertainment value only)
Beautiful building, amazing staff, the only criticism I have is about the drinks. They are way too strong and not very balanced. If you're a fan of strong drinks, this is the place for you. My fiance and I did love the airline chicken with the sweet sage based sauce, but on the potatoes, it was a little bit too much. The baked salmon was a little tough but well seasoned, and the quinoa was delicious.
My fiance loved, and I mean LOVED, the green beans. Well seasoned and perfectly cooked while still maintaining a good snap.
Like a lot of other reviews say "you have to try the bacon wrapped dates" I would have never ordered this. Except for the other reviews and they are fantastic!
