Nice local pub recently taken over, friendly staff with a great ethos, will definitely be back

Excellent hospitality, great service, incredibly friendly regulars and landlord.

Ran into some car issues nearby due to icy conditions and the landlord (Dan) went out of his way to help get my car recovered.

After a long walk in the cold it was a welcome relief to get inside and enjoy the warmth of the fire and charming atmosphere of this proper local pub.

I’ll definitely be visiting again, and thanks for all the help, it was greatly appreciated.

What an amazing find! Came in out of the snow after getting stranded on a icy road. Warmed up by the wood burner with a hot chocolate and locals happily lent us their chargers as our phones were dead. Dan the owner even messaged some local farmers to help rescue our car. Literally couldn’t have asked for more… we were welcomed as locals and will definitely be visiting again ????

Recently discovered even though I live within walking distance. Its a lovely atmosphere and the barman is good crack. A quirky old fashioned dales drinking pub, more so than an out of the mold chain establishment. Long may it remain so.

Great local village pub. Locals exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Dan, the landlord, treats you like you've lived there forever. Well worth a visit.

Don't think decor. If your only reason for going out for Sunday lunch is food then it's hard to beat the carvery and veg served here
