I recently visited The Earl Ferrers and was completely taken by the charm and warmth of this delightful pub. What sets this place apart is not just the cozy atmosphere or the excellent selection of drinks, but the heart and soul poured into it by Duncan, the friendly landlord. From the moment you walk in, Duncan makes you feel like you're part of the family, greeting guests with a smile that's as genuine as it is welcoming.
The pub itself exudes a traditional vibe, with a comfortable and inviting interior that makes you want to settle in for the evening. Whether you're there for a quiet pint or to enjoy the lively atmosphere on a busy night, The Earl Ferrers caters to all. The selection of beers, ales, and spirits is thoughtfully curated, ensuring there's something for everyone's taste. Moreover, the food is a delightful surprise, far surpassing your typical pub fare, with each dish prepared to perfection and presented with care.
But, it's the personal touch from Duncan that truly makes every visit memorable. His knack for remembering names and faces, along with his willingness to go the extra mile to ensure his guests have a great time, is commendable. Whether offering recommendations from the bar or sharing a story, Duncan's hospitality is unmatched.
The Earl Ferrers is more than just a pub; it's a community hub where friends meet, families gather, and newcomers are welcomed with open arms. Thanks to Duncan and his team, this pub stands out as a beacon of friendliness and quality in Streatham. I cannot recommend it highly enough for anyone looking for a genuine pub experience where they're treated not just as customers, but as friends.
This place is the absolute best! Ask for his pies: Owner is an absolute treat. Definitely do not hold it against him that he is a kiwi ???? So accomadatinh and wonderful
Came in for a drink last weekend for the first time and it’s become my new local favourite. Lovely staff and atmosphere.
With so many small pubs closing down these days I am so happy to see that this little gem has survived. I used to live very close by then when i moved away i really missed it so very much.
The staff are all very friendly but The Earl Ferrers would not be the same without its amazing Landlord. He is always smiling, is an amazing cook but most of all has a wealth of knowledge behind the bar and has introduced me too many fine spirits and invented some fantastic cocktails.
When it comes to food this is where the pub really earns its reputation. The squid for starters was served perfectly with their own take on crispy seaweed and the squid lightly fried coming out perfect it is a dish which will definitely leave you wanting more.
For main course i highly recommend the Jerk Chicken Salad. Most pubs serve Jerk Chicken and get it wrong....this pub serves it right full of robust flavours, just enough spice to make it authentic with great flavours throughout which doesn't blow your head off menaing those who do not like spice can still enjoy it.
For dessert being summer there was only one decision and it was the Eton Mess which was a nice way to finish a fantastic meal. The cream was fresh with homemade meringue, beautiful strawberries and layers of fruity flavours throughout i actually didnt want it to end.
All in all this pub caters for everyone and is not to be missed, i will definitely return again to Londons best family, dog friendly little local
a somewhat quirky pub with fun decor. Set back from the high street with more of a "locals" or "in the know" kind of vibe going on. Great music and even an old juke box. Good range of beers and friendly welcome from the team. Surprisingly large area of outdoor seat, although more than half of it was reserved, so presumably a popular pub locally. I was visit Streatham, so not familiar with the place but would love to go back.
So , we phoned to ask if they were open for food and messaged to ask what time they served till, was told - Yes and serving till 8pm , only to make our way there and at 7pm told NO FOOD , don't think I will bother again , complete waste of time.
Shame as was told how nice it was
Maybe if you go , go early would be my advice
Quirky, interesting pub that has live music on some nights and a lovely old jukebox.
Loved by many people far & wide ...has to be the best food & atmosphere in London by miles .
