This is a family run establishment and has been for a number of years. It's imperative to book for Sunday lunch as it is always heavily attended. There is normally a choice of three roast meats with specific accompanying items, crackling, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding etc. Vegetables are served separately along with gravy and sauces. Puddings are usually a good choice of regular favourites with Biscoffi sundae a particular liking of mine. Everything is cooked as if "mum" was in the kitchen and that's because she is! Sharon is a hidden gem appearing rosy cheeked at the end of a marathon session to have a chat and check that everyone are happy with their experience. A well stocked bar along with a cheery greeting from Tom and Dan supported with good regular staff at table speaks volumes for this lovely country pub that's just like home from home.
Great place, lovely staff and fabulous food..proper pub grub
We only stopped in for a couple of pints after a day of shifting and lifting, but the beer was good, and the service was super friendly. They serve a mean bag of pork scratchings, too. We've just moved into the area, so we will definitely go back to sample the food.
Just had one of the best Sunday lunches in the area. The meat was very fresh, the portion sizes were perfect and everything came to the table hot.
The staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable. An overall great experience that we will recommend to others. Thank you
