Best KPortal Reviews

Definitely a great vibe, I had a French 57 and my friend had the French 75 and they were the best ever. The DJ was playing great music(I went on Cinco de Mayo for Brunch). Indy was our waitress she was cool and made sure she checked on us and got us what we needed.
Food was not all that, I had shrimp and grits. I asked for a pancake with my meal and the girl with me asked for one with her meal, they brought both of our pancakes in the same plate so that kind of threw me off but the wings were really good. Some of the staff members were dancing and keeping the crowd moving which was a good thing.
They have a nice bar and good drinks. I’d go back if it’s a day that they have a DJ to sit at the bar and drink (I’d probably eat before I go) and if I get drunk and hungry then I’d only eat the wings.
Parking sucks, the food and service is blah. Drinks were good and strong, very pricey. The only thing that was good about this place was the atmosphere. No rush on going back. If you’re walking in the neighborhood and want a good drink go
The food here was excellent we had the shrimp and grits, steak & eggs, avocado salad and breakfast potatoes. Our server Miguel added to the experience with drink recommendations and superb service. We will be back
The food, the drinks, and the vibe are all amazing! It's a must that you visit The Duplex! They have the best wings I have ever had in my entire life and I love wings!!!
I went to The Duplex for a Sunday birthday brunch. Overall, pretty good restaurant and I'll go back. There were some concerning hiccups with the service, but overall I enjoyed my experience.
So let's get into it chile. We had a 1:45pm reservation but some people in our party had not yet arrived so they would not seat us. Mind you, we were looking around and it was noooo way they even had a table ready to begin with. Fast forward to 2:45pm, we're all there and they still don't have a table ready. That was crazy unprofessional to me but anyways, we finally got seated. The DJ was going hard the entire time so while we waited I was vibing to the music. Our waiter seemed to be all over the place (not really wanting to take orders, sitting down with guests to chat, just odd behavior). The staff overall is pretty friendly, I'll say. At one point they had run out of chicken wings, which I thought was odd for peak brunch time.
We sat down and got straight to ordering drinks and food all at once cus I could tell it was going to take while. Everything came surprisingly quickly (~15 min to get everything out), and let me tell you... this is when I started forgetting the clunky service in the beginning. Girl the fried chicken and donuts.... 30 OUT OF 10!!! OOOOOHH i had to stop myself so I had some to take home and enjoy later, it was so good. So flavorful and delicious. The steak and eggs platter was also good 10 out of 10. I had the bonfire cocktail and the amalfi spritz cocktail. Both good, not the best I've ever had, but decently priced and the flavor was there. 9 out of 10 on the drinks. Chile then they brought the birthday dessert... i don't know what it even was, but that dessert was the start of the show for me. Like a warm soft pillowy sweet cake. 60 out of 10. You see how we halfway gobbled it up, I almost didn't get a picture for the review. ???? That little skillet was CLEARED. I would go back solely for the dessert. There were lots of other goodies on the menu that I would like to try in the future.
You should know it's quite loud inside. I definitely had to yell to be heard by the person right next to me. The Duplex definitely has a darty/clubby vibe (there's a small little "dance" area), which was really nice/the space had great energy, but it was a little difficult to have conversations across the table without having to raise your voice. Not a big issue or a dealbreaker, just something I wish I'd known going in.
I would base my final impression off a second visit given the service issue at the first visit. The food was delicious and the vibes were immaculate. I will be back! Definitely recommend for brunch.
I arrived and was seated immediately due to my reservation. The dj was playing hits from the 90's & 00's. He did Aliyah served me at the bar. She was veryq helpful with the menu. We ordered shrimp n grits, chilaquiles, and bacon strips. . The good was delicious. Flavorful. The chilaquiles were Amazingly good. The atmosphere was great.
Came here for Valentine’s Day and they did have a nice special dinner offer going on, on top their regular happy hour. There is plenty of parking around the whole building but there is a 2 min walk involved. The restaurant is beautiful inside and has a very pleasant atmosphere and vibe. Now the service and food are not so great. The special we got involved oysters, a burrata appetizer, pasta dish and a dessert. The oysters were not done properly as there was residue in them from not being washed all the way through. The burrata was fine. But the Bolognaise pasta was absolutely terrible, the spaghetti were broken down, the sauce was very minimal as they were dry, the meat was pulled beef from a can so they just tasted bad. The dessert was ok but a little bitter. I would recommend this place for drink only. Now our server apparently rang our table on another one since food runners kept coming and bringing someone else’s food and drinks. She also tried to double charge us for the dinner and when I brought that to her attention she went to fix there mistake. Came back with the check from her other table as she rang it wrongly which she again had to take in the back and fix. She told me to charge my card since it was the right amount. Luckily I didn’t because it was once again the wrong check. At the end she finally brought the right one with gratuity applied. Save to say this is a one time experience for me.
I came here expecting a fun brunch spot for the weekends and came away loving the food, music, DJ, and overall atmosphere. It was crowded and parking is very hard to find, but this spot is a pleasant surprise if you like brunch parties. The lobster roll and shrimp & grits were AMAZING
