Fabulous pub for a Sunday lunch. If you go for a weekend drive, definitely stop here. We had the roast and it was delicious! Good options (including veggie/vegan if I remember right), unlimited gravy and the cauliflower cheese was great! There’s plenty of seating inside, benches out the front on the road in this cute village, and a big beer garden out the back with plenty of seating. It’s difficult to say what was better - the food or the service. Really friendly relaxed staff who are very welcoming and accommodating. Good drink options too (beers and ciders). Really enjoyed the whole experience.
Great food, piping hot and very tasty. Good home style cooking food, nothing fancy! Great prices and a helpful barmaid. Only issue is the fruit machines were flashing so much and lighting the whole room up. I thought it was emergency services to begin with speeding past the window. I don’t feel they should be flashing like that as it detracts from an otherwise nice atmosphere.
Great food service and at a nice price.
Came on for a Sunday roast, the bar staff twere very friendly and the food was very good.
Food portion size is perfect with nicely layer out plates.
I was also presently surprised to get a Cauliflower and broccoli cheese with the meal.
When we are back in the area we will definitely be back..
(Now to check out the desert menu...)
We have been visiting North Norfolk for the past 7 years, mainly around Holt, and have only today discovered The Dukes Head which is literally 5 minutes down the road from Edgefield Green. The food was proper pub grub at normal prices as opposed to inflated prices everywhere else for mediocre food. We have rebooked for tomorrow night. Lovely local pub, great service and nice back garden area. Don’t make our mistake and overlook it but best you book in advance. Dog friendly too.
Took the family for a meal on our last night of staying in the village. With 10 of us including 4 young children, we were made welcome, nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious and very reasonably priced.
Thank you for such a lovely evening!
A really lovely Sunday dinner with amazing vegan options. The staff were friendly and very helpful. There were 7 of us and we were all really impressed with the quality and taste of the food with all 7 dinners coming out together, all lovely and hot. Thank you for such a great meal, which was really well priced too.
Popped In for something to eat with the dogs, lovely place and great food and staff. Veggie options available ????
I have been a local for some 11 years, and had some great times in this lovely little local. Admittedly there has been one or two rowdy people frequent the pub at times, but the newly appointed manager has done a great job ironing out the issues. I would recommend a visit as it is a lovely place to go and the food is tasty, and reasonably priced. I for one will carry on using the good old local, and may you all too, use it or lose it as they say.
