Really good hotel with warm hotel. Breakfast & Reception staff Claudia is really helpful with all the requirement what we had as we are vegetarian. All I can say had good stay with friendly service.
Met with a very warm welcome at reception. Bedroom clean, tidy and comfortable. Breakfast cooked fresh to order. Cereal also available. Only negative was coffee is instant only some fresh would have made it perfect. Breakfast served 7-9 Monday to Friday and 8-10 weekends and bank holidays. Car parking limited but we managed to work around it fine. All in all would highly recommend at a good price.
Fantastic welcome from the owner and all the staff who were ever so friendly and helpful. The room was clean, very comfortable and a great nights sleep. Next day the breakfast was freshly home cooked and delicious. Overall a great overnight stay with standout friendliness from all the staff and very comfortable bed. Brilliant and thank you. I hope to stay again soon.
Parking - behind the hotel (something of a premium in Carmarthen) so if you can get in there, you're all set. It's a patch of land that can get 9 cars in there, with 6 cars being blocked in by the front 3. The hotel take registration numbers and phone numbers to help movement if necessary.||||Room - Clean, decent size & with tea & coffee making tray (not used) along with the smallest TV in a hotel room I've ever seen (not used). Could do with some improvements as you can see it's dated. One of the nicest showers I've had when away from home, very warm and powerful but ever so noisy for anyone else in the room or next door. We had a room on the first floor at the back of the hotel (number 19) and although the bar was pumping out music in the evening we didn't hear a thing when in the room.||||Food - We didn't eat there in the evening but the breakfast was excellent. Choices of cereal, juices and toast with toppings. Cooked Welsh breakfast was faultless.||||Summary - worth the £70 we paid but not more, if in Carmarthen again, will look to stay there again but also consider other options.
We booked this last minute as most of the places in Carmarthen were full. It was reasonably priced as we didn't want anything expensive.|We were greeted by a nice lady behind the bar who explained where our room was. The room was a bit old fashioned but it was clean and that's all we wanted. |We only stopped here for 1 drink in the evening before going out as there was a group of younger people shouting and swearing so we couldn't even hear ourselves speak.|We had a cooked breakfast the next morning which was lovely. Choice of cereals, juices, tea, coffee etc.|For what we paid it was good and I would probably stay again if we returned to Carmarthen.
Check in was really good, we were taken up to our room by a lovely friendly girl (sorry I didn't get your name)
We stayed in room 15 twin beds.
The beds are way past the time they should of been replaced, my bed was partially bad, the base of the bed was so rickety that when I turned over it sounded as though it was going to fall to pieces.
The mattress sagged in the middle, I felt every spring.
The heating was on, this is the week the hottest weather in the UK had been recorded.
The prevoius guests towels were still hanging in the bathroom.
We couldn't have the window open as below was the smoking area, we are non smokers.
When my sister used the bathroom at 4am she said it sounded as though there was a party in the next room, this turned out to be the houskeeping room, so we can only assume the noise was from the smoking area.
Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked poached eggs on toast.
Positive- car prk at rear, Town centre allocation, hot water.||Negatives- terrible place. you pay for what you get. Very budget, sticky carpets and urgently need updating furniture in rooms. Radiator stuck on all night, very hot even with window open. Dirty and mould in shower. Very noisey from room next door and constant noise, banging of doors from 1am onwards. In and out of female visitors!! Unable to sleep all night because of this. Definate not stay there again or recommend.
Great place to stay.Emma, the owner, was very helpful, great service and very welcoming.would definitely recommend this place, unfortunately had to drop a star due to the poor service and quality at breakfast. Not exactly sure what happened with this but were guessing this can't be the norm at this outstanding place, hopefully just a one off. Will be staying again in the future:-)
